A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE.
CITY OF NE FPORT BEACH '.$,. ECLARING THEIR INTEN-
TION TO ORDER THE IMPRAMENT OF OCEAN BOULE-
VARD AND CERTAIN OTHER STREETS, AVENUFS"AXZ
ALLEYS IN TRACT NO. 518 AS PER MAP THEREOF Rte.,
CORDED IN MISCELLANEOUS MAPS BOOK 17, PAGES 331
34, 35 and 36, RECORDS OF ORANGE COUNTY, CALIF-
ORNIA, PT THIN SAID CITY UNDER THE IMPROVEMENT
ACT OF 1911 AND THE AMMI)MENTS TO SAID ACT.
The Board of Trustees of the City of Newport Reach do re-
solve as follows:
SECTION 1,
That the public interest and convenience require and it is
the intention of the Board of Trustees of the City of Newport Beach, Cal-
ifornia, to order the construction of the following described work and
improvement in said City, to -wit:
1. That concrete pavement, concrete sidewalk, concrete curb and
granite concrete ornamental lighting poets, conduits, wires and appurten-
ances for the successful operation of an ornamental lighting system be
constructed upon the following streets:
(a) Upon that portion of Central Avenue as laid out and shown
upon a map of Tract No. 518, as recorded in ldiscellaneous Maps Book 17,
Pages 33, 34, 35 and 36, Records of Orange County, California, from the
northerly prolongation of the westerly line of Block A of the aforesaid
Tract No. 518 to the northerly prolongation of the easterly line of Lot
E of the aforesaid Tract No. 518.
(b) Upon Plaza Del Norte from I Street to I, Street.
(c) Upon Plaza Del Sur from I Street to L Street.
(d) Upon Miramar Drive from Central Avenue to Channel. Road.
(e) Upon Ocean Boulevard from G Street to Channel Read.

(f)`- Upon G Street from Central Avenue to a line, which line
is 20 feet southerly of and parallel with the easterly prolongation of
the northerly line of Lot 5, Block A, of the aforesaid Tract No. 518.
(g) Upon L Street from the northerly line of Ocean Boulevard
to Central Avenue.
(h) Upon M Street from the northerly line of Ocean Boulevard
to the southerly line of Lot K of the aforesaid Tract No. 518.
(i) Upon Channel Road from a line drawn perpendicular to the
westerly line of Channel Road through the northeasterly corner of Lot 19,
Block &, to the northerly termination of said Channel Road, as said Block
E and Channel Road are laid out and shown upon the aforesaid Tract No. 518.
2. That concrete pavement, concrete sidewalk and granite concrete
ornamental lighting poste, conduits, wires and appurtenances for the suc-
cessful operation of an ornamental lighting system be constructed upon
certain portions of I Street from the northerly line of Ocean Boulevard
to Central Avenue, except where concrete pavement is already constructed
to the official line and grade.
3. That concrete curbs and a surface of clay and gravel.be construct-
ed upon the alley in Block J of the aforesaid Tract No. 518 from I Street
to Miramar Drive; and upon the alley in Block 0 of the aforesaid Tract
No. 518 from Channel Road to H Street.
4. That a clay and gravel surfacing be constructed upon the follow -
iqg described alleys:
(a) Upon the alley in Block L of the aforesaid Tract No. 518
from L Street to I Street.
(b) Upon the alley in Block K of the aforesaid Tract No. 518
• from L Street to I Street.
• (c) Upon the alley in Blocks F, G, H and I of the aforesaid
Tract No. 518 from G Street to Channel Road.

• 5. That pipes, hydrants and other appliances and appurtenances
for supplying and distributing domestic water and for fire protection
• in certain portions of the following described streets and alleys,.,
(a) In Central Avenue between the northerly prolongation
Of the westerly line of Block A of the aforesaid Tract No. 518 and
Miramar Drive.
(b) In G Street between Central Avenue and the westerly pro-
longation of the southerly line of Ocean Boulevard.
(c) In I Street between Central Avenue and Ocean Boulevard.
(d) In L Street between Central Avenue and Ocean Boulevard.
(ey In M Street between the first alley northerly of $iramar
Drive and Ocean Boulevard.
(f) In Channel Road between a line drawn perpendicular to the
westerly line of Channel Road through the northeasterly corner of Lot 19,
Block g to the northerly termination of said Channel Road, as said Channel
Road and Block F are laid out and shown upon the aforesaid Tract No. 518.
(g) In Miramar Drive between Central Avenue and the alley in
Block J of the aforesaid Tract No. 518, terminating in Miramar Drive.
(h) In the alley in Block L of the aforesaid Tract No. 518 be-
tween L Street and I Street.
(i) In the alley in Block J of the aforesaid Tract No. 518 be-
tween I Street and Miramar Drive.
(j) In the alley in Block $ of the aforesaid Tract Wo. 518 between
L Street and I Street.
(k) In the alley in Block O of the aforesaid Tract No. 518 be-
tween Channel Road and M Street.
t1) In the alley in Blocks F, G, H and I of the aforesaid
• Tract No. 518 between G Street and Channel Road.
6. That cement pipe sanitary sewers, together with manholes, Junc-
tion chambers, cast iron frames and covers, lampholes, flushtanks, and

other appurtenances be constructed on the grades, at the elevations and
• along the lines of said sewers in the following locations:
(a) In G Street betreen the westerly prolongation of the
southerly line of Ocean Boulevard and the sewer now in place Along the
northerly line of Central Avenue.
(b) In the alley in Block K of the aforesaid Tract No. 518
between I Street and L Street.
(c) In the alley in Block J of the aforesaid Tract No. 518
between Miramar Drive and I Street.
(d) In Miramar Drive from the proposed sewer in the alley in
Block J hereinbefore described to the sewer already in place along the
northerly ,Line of Central Avenue.
(e) In Channel Road between Ocean Boulevard and the northerly
termination of said Channel Road as said Channel Road is laid out and
shown upon the aforesaid map of Tract Ido. 518.
(f) In the alley in Blocks I, H, G and F of the aforesaid
Tract No. 518 between G Street and Channel Road.
(g) In M Street between the first alley southerly of Hiramar
Drive and the first alley northerly of Miramar Drive.
(h) In the alley in Block 0 of the aforesaid Tract No. 518
between M Street and Channel Road.
(i) In the alley in Block L of the aforesaid Tract No. 518
between I Street and L Street.
(j) In L Street between Miramar Drive and the sewer already in
place along the northerly line of Central Avenue.
. All of the hereinbefore described streets and alleys shall be
graded to the official grade in accordance with the plans, profiles and
cross sections hereinafter referred to.
All of the foregoing work and improvement is fully set forth,
delineated and described on plans, profiles, cross sections and detailed
drawings No. 291, 292, 293, 294, 233, 234, 235 and 236 on file in the

Office of the City Engineer of said City heretofore approved by the
• Board of Trustees of the City of Newport Beach on the 3rd day of Decem-
ber, 1923, by Resolution No. :and in Specifications No. 27, adopted
by Resolution No. 97, as said specifications No. 27 are amended by Resol-
ution No. 131 and Specifications No. 33, adopted by Resolution No. 165,
and Specifications No. 23 adopted by Ordinance No. 118, and Specifications
No. 32, adopted by Resolution No. 186, and Specifications No. 34, adopted
by Resolution ho. 251 of the Board of Trustees of said City and on file
in the office of the City Clerk of said City. The said plans, profiles,
cross sections, detailed drawings and specifications are hereby referred
to for the full and detailed description of the said proposed work and ire,
pro ve me nt .
SECTION 2.
That the Board of Trustees also determines and declares that
serial bonds bearing interest at the rate of seven per cent (7 %) per annup
shall be issued to represent each assessment of Twenty —five (0,25.00)
Dollars or more.remaining unpaid for twenty days after the date of the
warrant. Said serial bonds shall extend over a period ending nine (9)
years from the second day of January next succeeding the fifteenth (15th)
day of the next November following their date. Payments on the principal
of unpaid assessments and interest shall be made by property orners to
the City Treasurer and the same shall be disbursed by him, all as provid-
ed in the said Improvement Act of 1911.
SECTION. 3.
That the contemplated work and improvement hereinbefore mention-
ed is, in the opinion of said Board of Trustees, of more than local or
• ordinary public benefit, and the expense of said work and improvement is
• made chargeable upon the district hereinafter described and said Board of
Trustees does hereby declare said district to be the district benefited by
said work and improvement and to be assessed to pay the costs and expenses

thereof, which district is bounded and described as follows, to —wit:
• Beginning at,trie southwesterly corner of Lot 5, Block A, of a
Map of: Tract No. 518 as recorded in Miscellaneous Maps Book 17, Pages 33,
34, 35 and 36, Records of Orange County, California; thence southwester-
ly along the southwesterly prolongation of the westerly line of the afore-
said Block A, Tract No. 518 to its intersection with the mean or ordinary
high tide line of the Pacific Ocean as said high tide line is delineated
and shown upon that oertain map or plat of Township No. 7 South, of Range
No. 10 hest, San Bernardino Meridian, California on file in the U. S. Sur -
veyorGeneral3s office, San Francisco, California, dated March 1st, 1905:
thence easterly along the aforesaid mean or ordinary high tide line of the
Pacific Ocean to its intersection with the easterly line of Channel Road,
as said Channel Road is laid out and shown upon the aforesaid Map of Tract
No. 518; thence north 15 degrees rest in a direct line to the southwester-
ly corner of Lot 1, Block P, of the aforesaid Tract No. 518; thence north-
easterly along the southeasterly line of the last mentioned Lot l.to the
southeasterly corner thereof; there a northwesterly along the northeasterly
line of the last mentioned Lot 1 and along the northeasterly line of Lot
M of the aforesaid Tract No. 518 to the most northerly corner of the last
mentioned Lot M; thence south a distance of 584.82 feet to the northeast
corner of Lot B of the aforesaid Tract No. 518; thence west along the
northerly lines of Lots B, K and C of the aforesaid Tract No. 518 and the
westerly prolongation of the northerly lines of said Lots, a distance of
924 feet to a point in the easterly line of Section 2, Township 7 south,
Range 10 VIest, San Bernardino Base and Heridian; thence due north along
• the easterly line of the aforesaid Section 2 a distance of 660 feet to the
• northeasterly corner of the aforesaid Section 2; thence due west along
the northerly line of the aforesaid Section .2, to its intersection with the
southerly prolongation of the easterly line of L Street; thence northwest-
erly to the intersection df the westerly line of L Street and the northerly
line of Central Avenue; thence westerly along the northerly line of Cen-

tral Avenue to its intersection with the northeasterly prolongation of
the northweaterly line of Block A of the aforesaid Map of Tract ITo. 518;
thence southwesterly along the northeasterly prolongation of the north-
westerly line of the last mentioned Block A and along the northwesterly
line ¢f-.the last mentioned Block A to the place of beginning, excepting
therefrom any lands forming any part of any public street or alley.
The above description is general only. A plat or map of said
district 140. _295 adopted by Resolution ido. 7y of the Board of Trustees
of said City, indicating by a boundary line the extent of the territory
included in the proposed district, is on file in the office of the City
Clerk. Reference is hereby made to said plat or map for a further full
and complete description of the said assessment district. The said map or
plat so on file shall govern for all details as to the extent of the said
assessment district.

Notice is hereby given that on Monday, the 24th day of December,
1923, at 7 :30.oiclock P. M., in the Council Chamber of the.City Hall of
the said City of Newport beach, s_ny and all persons raving any objecticne
to the proposed work or improvement or to the extent of the district, or
both, may appear before the said Board of Trustees and show cause why
said proposed improvement should not be carried out in accordance with this
resolution.
SFCTION 5.
The Newport News, a weekly newspaper, published and circulated
and of general circulation in the City of Newport Beach, is hereby desig-
nated as the newspaper in which this Resolution of Intention shall be pub—
• liehed, and for the publication of all other notices, resolutions, orders
• or other rratter required to be published by the provisions of the Improve-
ment Act of 1911 hereinafter referred td, and the City Clerk of said City
is hereby directed to cause this Resolution of Intention to be published

• by two insertions in said newspaper in' the manner and form required by
• law. The Board of Trustees does not deem it advisable that the Clerk
mail copies of the notice of improvement to owners or reputed owners
and he is not required to mail the same.
SECTION 6.
The Street Superintendent of said city shall, after the adopt-
ion of said Resolution of Intention, cause to be conspicuously posted
along the lines of said contemplated work or improvement and along all the
open streets within the hereinbefore described assessment district, notices
of the passage of this Resolution of Intention in the manner and form re-
quired by law.
SECTION 7.
All the proceedings for the aforesaid work and improvement shall
be had and taken under and in accordance with the provisions of an Act of
the Legislature of t'.e State of California, designated as the "Improvement
Act of 1911 ", approved April 7th, 1911,, and amendments therato.
