A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTE7S OF THE
CITY OF !PORT BEACH DECLARING THEIR INTENTION
TO ORDER THE Impao VEMENT OF CERTAIN PORTIONS OF
'?cFADDEN PLACE AND 21st STREET b7ITHI? SAID CITY
UNDER THE I,'. PROVMENT ACT OF 1911 AND THE Ai::END-
MENTS TO SAID ACT.

The Board'of Trustees of the City of Newport Beach do re-
solve as follows:
SECTION 1.
i
That the public interest -and convenience require and it is
the intention of the Board of Trustees" -i ,the City`of�?teunort Beach,
California, to order the construction of the followiqi described-___
work and improvement in said City, to -wit:
That certain portions of 1cFadden Place between the north-
easterly and southwesterly boundary lines of said L:cFadden Place
be graded and paved with concrete pavement and have concrete curbs
constructed. alonb certain portions of said :_cFadden Place.
That certain portions of 21st Street between Central Avenue
(North Drive) and Central Avenue (South Drive) be graded and paved
with concrete pave.nent.
All of the hereinbefore described: streets shall be graded
to the official grade in accordance with the plans hereinc,fter
r6ferred to.
All of the foregoin6 worn and improvement is fully set forth,
delineated and described on Plan and Detailed thawing No. 300, on
file in the office of the City Engineer of said City, heretofore
approved by the Board of Trustees of the City of Newport Beach on
the 7th day of July, 1924, by Resolution I ?o. Ify , and in
Specifications No. 33, adopted by Resolution No. 165, of the
Board of Trustees of seid City, and on rile in the office of the
City Clerk of said City. The said plan, detailed drawing and

. specifications are hereby referred to for the full and detailed
description of said proposed work and improvement.
• SECTIOPi 2.
That the contemplated work and improvement hereinbefore
mentioned is, in the opinion of said Board of Trustees, of more
than local or ordinary public benefit, and the expense of s4id work
and improvement is made chargeable upon the district hereinafter
described, and said Board of Trustees does hereby declare said
district to be the district benefited by said work and improvement,
and-to be assessed to pay the costs and expenses thereof, which
district is bounded and described.as follows, to —wit:
Beginning at the northeasterly corner of Lot 1, Block 110,
of Tract No. 234, as recorded in Miscellaneous Maps Book 13, pages
36 and 37, Records of Orange County, California; thence northwest-
erly and westerly along the southwesterly and southerly line of the
first alley northeasterly and northerly of Central Avenue (North
Drive) to the northeasterly corner, of Lot 1, Block 118, of a ? " ^p
of Section B, Newport Beach, as recorded in Miscellaneous Inaps
Book 4, page 27, Records of Orange County, California; thence
northerly in a direct line 'to the northeasterly corner of Lot 18,
Block 218, of the aforesaid Map of Section B, Newport Beach; thence
westerly in a direct line to the northwesterly corner of Lot 7,
of the last mentioned Block 218; thence northerly in a. direct line
to the northeasterly corner of Lot 5 of the last mentioned Block

corner of Lot 12, Block 636, of the aforesaid Map of Canal Section;
thence westerly in a direct line to the most northerly corner of
Lot 10 of the last mentioned Block 636; thence westerly in a direct
line to the most easterly corner of Lot 1, Block 637, of the afore-
said Map of Canal Section; thence westerly and northwesterly along
the northerly and northeasterly lines of Blocks 637, 638, 539 and
441, of the aforesaid Map of Canal Section to the most westerly
corner of Lot 15 of the last mentioned Block 441 of the aforesaid
Map of Canal Section; thence northwesterly in a direct line to the
most easterly corner of Lot 1, Block 244 of the aforesaid idap of
Canal Section; thence northwesterly along the northeasterly line
of the last mentioned Block 244, to the most northerly corner of
Lot 7 o the last mentioned Block 244; thence westerly in a direct
line to the most westerly corner of Lot 8, Block 145 of the afore-
said map of Canal Section; thence ' southwesterly in a direct line
to the most northerly corner of Lot 14, Block 45 of a Map of River
Section as recorded in Miscellaneous Maps Book 4, page 25, Records
of Orange County, California; thence southwesterly in a direct line

erly along the northeasterly line of Ocean Avenue as said Ocean
Avenue is laid out and shown upon the aforesaid Map of the Third
Addition to Newport Beach, and as laid out and shown upon lisp of
Newport Beach as recorded in Miscellaneous Maps Book 3, page 26,
Records of Orange County, California; to the most southerly corner
of Lot 19, Block 21 of the aforesaid Map of Newport Beach; thence
southeasterly in a direct line to the most westerly corner of Lot
7, Block 20 of a Map of First Addition to Newport Beach as record-
ed in Miscellaneous maps Book 3, page'27, Records of Orange County,
California; thence Southeasterly and easterly along the northerly
and northeasterly line of Ocean Avenue as said Ocean Avenue is laid
out and shown upon the aforesaid Kap of First Addition to Newport
Beach., and upon a lisp of Section B, Newport Beach, as recorded in
Miscellaneous Naps Book 4, page 27,, Records of Orange County,
California, and Lap of Tract No. 234, as recorded in kiscellaneous .
Maps Book 13, pages 36 and 37, Records of Orange County, California,
to the southeasterly corner of Lot 1., Block 10 of the aforesaid i:Tap
of Tract No. 234; thence northeasterly in a direct line to the place
of beginning, except therefrom any lands forming any part of any
public street or alley..
The above description is general only. A plat or nap of

SECTION 3.
Notice is hereby given that on Monday, the 4th day of
August, 1924, at 7:30

show cause why said proposed improvement

SECTION 4.
The Newport News, a weekly newspaper, published and circu-
lated and of general circulation in the City of Newport Beach, is
hereby designated as the newspaper in which this Resolution of In-
tention shall be published, and for the publication of all other
notices, resolutions, orders or other matter required to be pub-
lished by the provisions of the Improvement Act of 1911 hereinafter
referred to, and the City Clerk of said City is hereby directed to
cause this Resolution of Intention to be published by two inser-
tions in said newspaper in the manner and form required by law.
The Board of Trustees does not deem it advisable that the Clerk mail
copies of the notice of improvement to owners or reputed owners and
he is not required to mail the same.
SECTION 5.
The Street Superintendent of said City shall, after the
adoption of said Resolution of Intention, cmuuse to be conspicuously
posted along the lines of said contemplated work or improvement,
and along all the open streets within the hereir_before described
assessment district, notices of the passage of this Resolution of
Intention in the manner and form required by law.

• SECTION 6.
All the proceedings for the aforesaid work and improvement
shall be had and taken under and in accordance with the provisions
of an Act of the Legislature of the State of California, designated
as the "Improvement Act of 191111, approved April 7th, 1911, and
amendments thereto.
