RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH, CALIFORNIA, TO ESTABLISH THE
BICYCLE MASTER PLAN OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE
WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach supports bicycle usage for health,
transportation, and recreational purposes; and
WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach plans to prepare a comprehensive, citywide
Bicycle Master Plan;
WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach wishes to establish a Bicycle Master Plan
Oversight Committee to provide guidance and public input to the preparation of the Bicycle
Master Plan;
NOW, THEREFORE, The City Council of the City of Newport Beach, does hereby
resolve, determine and order as follows:
Section 1. Establishment
The Bicycle Master Plan Oversight Committee is hereby established to provide guidance
and a public forum for the preparation of a Bicycle Master Plan.
Section 2. Duties of the Committee
The committee will meet as- needed to review and provide input, guidance and a public
forum for the preparation of a Bicycle Master Plan.
Section 3. Composition of the Committee
The Committee shall consist of seven community members appointed by the Mayor and
ratified by the Council. Committee members will be individuals with background and
experience in casual, recreational, and commuter bicycling. The Committee shall be
chaired by a current member of the City Council.
Section 4. Duration of the Committee
Each Committee Member shall be appointed for the duration of the Bicycle Master Plan
preparation process. Upon completion and City Council approval of the Bicycle Master
Plan, the committee duties will be deemed complete and the committee will disband.

Ayes: Gardner, Petros, Hill, Selich, Henn, Daigle, Mayor Curry
