RESOLUTION NO. 3 rh
A Resolution of the Board of Trustees of the
Cityof Newport Beach fixing the rate per centum
and levying a tax upon all of the taxable property
within the city of Newport Beach which is taxable
therein for municipal purposes.

The Board of Trustees of the city of Newport Beach do
resolve and declare as follows:
lat. Resolved, that there be and is hereby
levied upon all of the taxable property within the city of Newport
Beach, which is taxable therein for municipal purposes, a tax for
the purpose of raising the necessary honey with which to carry on
the various departments of the city,of Newport Beach for the cur-
rent fiscal year.
2nd. Resolved, that the rate per centum
of the tax hereinafter levied shall be and is hereby fixed at the
sum of eighty -two (82) cents on each one hundred dollars of value
designated for each fund as follows:
For the current expense sum-
eighty (80) cents ,
For the library fund- two (2) cents.
Total tax levy- eighty -two (82)ce ts.
3rd. Resolved, that in additionto all othe
taxes herein levied for municipal puposes,there is hereby levied on
all of the taxable property within the c ity of Newport Beach a tax
for the purpose of raising the necessary and sufficient money to pa
the annual interest on all issued, outstanding and unpaid municipal
bonds of the city of Newport Beach, and also such part of the prin-
cipal thereof as shall become due before the time.for fixing the
next general tax levy in and for said city, the rate hereby levied
for said purposes is fixed at 3D cents on each one hundred

0�- dollars of value, and the same shall be collected at the
same time and in the same manner as all other municipal taxes are
collected, excepting upon property annexed at an election held the
11th day of February, 1924, and known as Corona del Mar, provided
that the said taxes herein levied shall be exclusive of any tax
levied for the payment of interest and principal of $350,000 bonds
of the city of Newport Beach issued and sold for the completion of
the municipal water system thereof.
4th. Resolved, that in addition to all
other taxes herein levied for municipal purposes there is hereby
levied on all of the taxable property within the city of Newport
Beach a tax for the purpose of raising the necessary and sufficient
money to pay the annual interest on $350,000.00 bonds of the city
of Newport Beach issued and sold for the completion of the municipa
water system thereof, issued, outstanding, and unpaid of the city
of Newport Beach, and also such part of the principal thereof as
shall become due before the time for fixing the next general tax
levy in and for said city, the rate of the tax hereby levied for

5th. Resolved, that in addition to all
other taxes herein levied there is hereby levied on all the taxable
property within the city of Newport Beach a tax of fifteen cents
on each one hundred dollars for advertising purposes, pursuant to
the provisions of Ordinance No. 144 submitted to and carried by
a majority of the votes of all the votes voting at an election
held for the purpose of voting for or against said ordinance on
the 24th day of September, 1918.
6th. Resolved, that in addition to all
other taxes herein levied, there is hereby levied on all of the
taxable property within MuAicipal Improvement District No. 1 of
the city of Newport Beach a tax of /0 cents on each $100.00

of assessed valuation for the payment of semi - annual interest on
and the redemption of the bonds of slid district.
7th. Resolved, that in addition to all
other taxes herein levied, there is hereby levied on all of the
taxable property within Municipal Improvement District No. 2 of
the city of Newport Beach a talc of .DLO cents on each $100.00
of assessed valuation for the payment of semi - annual interest on
and the redemption of the bonds of said district.
8th. Resolved, that in addition to all
other taxes herein levied, there is hereby levied on all of the
taxable property within Municipal Improvement District No. 3 of
the city of Newport Beach a tax of j 6 _ cents on each $100.00
of assessed valuation for the payment of semi - annual interest on
and the redemption of the bonds of said district.
9th. Resolved, that in addition to all
other taxes herein levied, there is hereby levied on all of the
taxable property within Municipal Improvement District No. 4 of
the city of Newport Beach a tax of .36 cents on each $100.00
of assessed valuation for the payment of s emi- annual interest
on and the redemption of the bonds of said district.
10th. Delinquencies having occurred in
the payment of assessments and interest thereon for thework done
and improvement made in the city of Newport Beach, pursuant to
the following resolutions:
Resolution of Intention No. 133, passed, adopted and
approved on the 6th day of July, 1920;
Resolution of Intention No. 160, passed, adopted and
approved on the 20th day of March, 1922;
Resolution of Intention No. 158, passed adopted, and
approved on the 20th day of March, 1922;
Resolution of Intention No. 156, pass =d, adopted and
approved on the 6th day of March, 1922;

The property upon which the assessments and interest
were a lien having, on account of said delinquencies, been sold
to the city of Newport deach,aw there being no available funds
in the treasury of the city of Newport Beach with which to pay the
delinquent assessments and delinquent interest thereon, and the
tax collector having made demand on the board of trustees that,a
suitable amount be included in the tax levy of 1926 -27 for the
purpose of providing funds with which to make such payments, there
is hereby levied on each $100.00 of assessed value of the real
and personal property in the city of Newport Beech therein taxable
for municipal purposes the sum of /0 _ _ cents for the purpose
of making such payments.
The above and foregoing Resolution was passed, adopted
and approved by the Board of Trustees of the city of Newport Beach
at a regular meeting thereof held on the 6th day of September,
1926, by the following vote:
