9. The Board of Trustees of the City of Fe^ -port
Beach did, on the 31st day of Yay, 1927, pass its Resolution of
Intention 7o. 429, to order the planting, protection and main. -.
tenance of trees, shrubs, ?plants end Lraes alor. cnd in certvin
portions of Ocean Boulevard and other streets in Corona del 3.-far,
^ithin said City, all as more pfirtieularly described in said
Resolution of intention No. 429; end:
"t;�ReA5, Said Resolution of Intention Mo. 429 directed
the City En6ineer to.make E-nd file with the City Clerk aid.ex
officio Clerk of the Board of Trustees 2. report in -T iting present-
ing plans and specifications for the -ork to be performed and
estimated cost of the improvements including the incidental expenses
in connection therewith, and t!,e annual coat of maintenance thereof
for a period of five (5) years, a die�:rair. of the property affected
or benefited by the proposed ^cork or iworove,nent and to be assessed
to Da.y the costs and expenses thereof, and. an assessment of the..
tote.l amount of the costs and expenses of the proposed improvement;
and

plans and epecifications, estimates of cost, diagram aid assesements
as directed in said Resolution of Intention No. 429; and

of Trustees of said City presented.said plans, snecificetigns,
estimate, disGram and assessment to the Board of Trustees of said
City for consideration, whereup8n the said Board of Trustees on the
07th day of June, 1957, adopted Resolution P ?o. 434 fixing a time
and place for hearing, protests in relation to the proposed improve-
ment, as more particularly described in the aforesaid Resolution
of Intention 7o. 428; and
"IM17,A3 , The aforesaid Resolution No. 434 directed the
City Clerk and Ex- officio Clerk of the Board of Trustees to give..
notice of slid haring, as required by lar, and also directed the
Superintendent of Streets of said City to post Notices of Park ^ny
Improve:aent along all streets, avenues, lanes, alleys) courts,
-places and pathl^ays, or parts thereof, as required by law, and to
cause a notice similar in substance to be published as required
by law; snd
"MEREAS, Certain persons interested filed written
protests , -ith the City Clerk and Ex- officio Clerk of said Soard
of Trustees,at or before the time set for,the hearing, objeoting
to said improvement and to the proposed assessment; and
�IHMMFAS, At the time set for hearing protests or oq-
jections the Board of Trustees proceeded to hear the s,^-ue and
all of said protests or objections against said improvement
and aga.inat tae proposed assessment having been heard and duly
considered, and said Aosrd being required to pass upon the Fame;
IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the Board of Trustees of the
City of DTeT --)ort Beach that all of the said protests and objections
against the said proposed improvement End proposed assessment be
and the sale are hereby overruled and denied.
RESOLVED, FORTFM , Thet slid board finds that said
protests are not signed by the o-ners of a. majority of the frontage
of the property fronting cn streets, or »arts of streets,within
said aesassnent dietriot.

The City Clerk and Ex— officio Clerk of s,-?id Bof!rd of
Trustees is hereby directed to transmit to the Tax Collector of
said City the diagram end assessment now on file in his office,
and the Tax Collector. shall annually enter said. assessments'Aipon
the assessment roll upon -11lich other taxes of Reid City are
entered, and the same shall be annually collected in the erne manner
as other taxes are collected, such entry End collection to be
made at the same time and by the seine officers as in the case of
other city taxes. All sums collected on eccount of such assessment
shall be placed in the City Treasury to the credit of the "Corona
del ;Jar Tree Planting Fand ".
