The communication from E.I.Fulton stating the Coro del
Mar Bay. ho re Syndicate were planning on buying 8500 cubic rds of
dredged terial to fill their bay frontage, and hoping t Council
would be f vorable to it, was considered, and on motion Councilman
Garfield se nded by Councilman Claire and carried, the ity Engineer
was in etructe to use his judgment in selling the dre ed material to
the best advan a of the City.
On mo on of Councilman Ellsworth second by Councilman
H111ner and carrie the communication from Lrs. C ,White asking per-
mission to plant a e palm trees at the approac of the Bay Island
bridge, was referre_ to the Street Committee r attention.

ORDINANCE NO 38 entitled:
PRESCRIBIN THE ADDITIO AL DUTIES OF POLICEMEN AND
FIREMEN, came up f final ssage, was read, considered,
and upon call of the roll pas d by a following vote, to -wit:
AYES, Councilmen Hilm , laire, Ellsworth, Garfield,
Johnson.
NOES, Councilmen None.
ABSENT, Councilmen N e.

The Clerk noti led the Council hat this was the time and
place fixed for the hea ng in the matter f the list of unpaid
assessments filed by a Supt. of ' Streete f the improvement of a
portion of Central A nue in the City of Ne rt Beach, as per Res-
olution of Intentio No. 581.
The Cle also notified the Council t t Notice of such
hearing had bee published and posted as require by law.
The erk reported that no written prote to had been re-
ceived, and t e Mayor then inquired if there were person or per-
sona presen who wished to make objections why bonds ould not be
issued upo the security of unpaid assessments. No on responded.
Councilman Lloyd Claire then offered Resolutio No. 619-
fixing a unpaid aggregate, determining that bonds shoul be issued
and fi 'ng the denominations of said bonds, and moved its option,
whit motion was duly seconded by Councilman A.J.Garfield an passed
by a following vote to -wit:
AYES, Councilmen Hilmer, Claire, Ellsworth, Garfield,
Johnson.
NOES, Councilmen None
ABSENT, Councilmen None.
The Clerk notified the Council that this was the time and
place fixed for the hearing in the matter of the list of unpaid as-
sessment's filed by the Suoerintendent of Streets for the improvement
of Main Street and certain other streets and avenues in the City of
Ne-rport Beach, as ner Resolution of Intention No. 563. '
The Clerk also notified the Council that notice of such
hearing had been published and posted as required by law.
The Clerk reported that no written protests had been re-
ceived, and the Mayor then inquired if there were any person or per-
sona present who wished to make objections why bonds should not be
issued upon the security of unpaid assessments. No one responded. - -
Councilman Lloyd Claire then offered Resolution No. 620
fixing the unpaid aggregate, determining that bonds should be issued
and fixing denominations of said bonds and moved its- adoption, which
motion was duly seconded by Councilman Garfield and passed by the
following vote, to -wit:
AYES, Councilmen Hilmer, Claire, Ellsworth, Garfield,
Johnson.
NOES, Councilmen None
ABSENT, Councilmen None.
