RESOLUTION NO. A 3.
WHEREAS, there has been presented to the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach a certain agreement dated the
day of March, 1931, between the City of Newport Beach, County of
Orange, State of California, as party of the first part, and the
United States of America, by the Chief of the Weather Bureau,
Department of Agriculture of the United States, as party of the
second part; and
WHEREAS, the party of the first part in said agreement
mentioned agrees to and does lease to the party of the second
part a certain parcel of land situate in the City of Newport
Beach, County of Orange, State of California, and more particularl
described as follows, to -wit:
Beginning at a point in the southerly line
of Lot "J° as shown upon a map of Tract No. 518,
recorded in Book 17 , pages 33 to 36 inclusive ,
of Miscellaneous Maps, records of Orange County,
California, which point is 10.89 feet measured
along the said southerly line of Lot "J" westerly
from the southeast corner of said Lot "J°; running
thence south 150 0l East 40 feet; thence south
750 01 West 50 feet; thence North 150 01 West
61.8 feet to an intersection with the said south-
erly line of Lot °J°; thence easterly along the
said southerly line of Lot "Ju along a curve having
a radius of 8,605.00 feet a distance of 54.53 feet
to the poiht of beginning.
And WHEREAS, said lease is for the period of ten
(10) years, commencing the let day of January, 1931, and ending
on the 31st day of December, 1940; and
WHEREAS, said lease or agreement is made upon the
terms, covenants and conditions therein contained; and
WHEREAS, said agreement has been duly submitted to
Ithe City Attorney of the City of Newport Beach, and said City
IlAttorney has reported that the same is correct as to form.

1 I NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City of
2 Newport Beach, by and through its City Council, deems that it
3 is for the best interests of said City that said property be
4 leased to said party of the second part upon the t erms and
5 conditions in said agreement mentioned; and
6 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the considerations
7
therein specified are adequate in the opinion of the City
8 Council; and
9 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That said agreement be
10 executed in triplicate on behalf of the City of Newport Beach,
11 by and through its Mayor and City Clerk, and that said three
12 copies be forthwith forwarded to the United States Department
13 of Agriculture, Weather Bureau, at Los Angeles, California ,
14 for the signature of the Chief of the Weather Bureau, and
15 upon receipt of a duly executed copy by the said Chief of the
16 Weather Bureau, that the same be filed in the office of the
17 City Clerk of the City of Newport Beach.

Newport Beach at a regular meeting thereof held on the 23rd
