RESOLY.ND, that the City Council of the City of 6
Newport Beach, California, having in open session on the
day of A��� 1931, opened, examined and publicly
declared all sealed proposals or bids for the following stork
X. 4
to be done and improvements to be made in the said city, to -wit!-
The improvement of Hay Avenue, 9th Street and certain
alleys in Tract No. 884 in the City of Newport Beach by certain
grading, by the construction of certain cement concrete curb,
cement concrete sidewalk, cement concrete pavement, vitrified
clay pipe sanitary sewers, vitrified clay pipe house conn-
ection sewers, brick manholes, cement concrete flush tank,
cast iron pipe wMter mains, -;e-te valves, valve bores and
covers, concrete valve chamber and cover, fittings and appur-
tenances, cement concrete retaining viall, disintegrated granite
roadway and the removal of certain cement concrete curb and
sideralk, all as more particularly described in Resolution of
Intention I:o. 654, passed and adopted by the City Council of
said city on the 2nd day of Larch, 1931, and on file in the office
of the City Clerk of said city.
For further particulars reference is hereby made to
said Resolution of Intention I?o. 654 and to the plans and pro-
files, being Plan I;o. 389, Sheets 1 to 3 inclusive, and Standard
Plens lJos. 1003, 1005, 1010, 1012, 1013, 1025, 1027, 1035 and
1045, on file in thecifice of the City Engineer of said City
• and to specifications for the said work adopted by the City

Council on the 2nd day of TIarch, 1931, and on file in the office
of the City Clerk of said City, and all of the said plans, pro-
files and specifications heretofore approved by the City Council
of said city are incorporated herein and made a part hereof, and
reference is hereby made thereto for a more particular description
of the said cork.
Said City-Council has determined and declared that the
contemplated work or improvement hereinbefore mentioned, was, in
the opinion of the said City Council., of more than local or
ordinary public.,benefit, anti the said City Council has made the
expenses of the said work chargeable upon a district. For a
particular description of said assessment district, reference
is hereby made to said P.esolution of Intention No. 654.
Said City Council has determined and declared that
serial bonds bearing interest at the rate of seven (7A) per cent
per annum be issued to represent each assessment of Twenty -five
025.00) Dollars or more remaining unpaid for thirty (30) days
after the date of the warrant. Said serial bonds shall extend
over a period ending nine (9) years from the 2nd day of January
next succeeding the 15th day of the next November following their
date. Payments on the principal of unpaid assessments and
interest shall bo made by the property owners to the City
Treasurer, and the sane shall be disbursed by him, all as pro-
vided in the "Improvement Act of 191111 hereinafter referred to.
All of the work herein mentioned and for the issuance
of bonds shall be done and carried through in pursuance of an
Act of the Legislature of the State of California, designated
"Improvement Act of 1911 ", approved April 7, 1911, and all acts
amendatory thereto.
Said City Council hereby rejects all of the said
proposals or bids, except the ne :ct hereinafter mentioned, and
hereby awards the contre.ct for the said -rork and improvement to
the lowest, regular, responsible bidder, to -rit: to
at the prices named in d
bid for the said work, on file in the office of the
City Clerk of the said City.
The City Clerk of the said City is hereby directed to
cause a Vlotice of Award of Contract to be published in the manner
and form required by lar by two insertions in the ITewport Wevs,
a weekly newspaper published and circulated in the City of
PIerport Beach, and hereby designated for that purpose by the
said City Council.
Passed and adopted by the City Council of the said
City of Newport Beach, California, this L � day of
