WHEREAS, the State of-California, through the County
of Orange, is selling certain properties in the City of Newport
Beach,-at public auction, and pursuant to notice and advertise-
ment given therefor as required by law; and
WHEREAS, said sale is being made for the reason that
the County taxes are delinquent thereon and have been delinquent
for more than five years; and
WHEREAS, the City taxes of the City of Newport Beach
are also delinquent onsaid properties; and
WHEREAS, it is deemed advisable that the City of
Newport Beach purchase said properties located.in said city in
order to protect said city's rights therein.
NOW) THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that J. A. Gant, the
City .Treasurer of the City of Newport Beach be authorized,
instructed and directed to attend the public auction of said
properties to be he.id on the L— day ofr' !�." 1931, at the
Court House in the City of Santa Ana, Orange County, California;
and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That said City Treasurer
be authorized, instructed and directed to bid on each and all of
said properties located in the City of Newport Beach, where said
properties are offered for sale at said public auction, the
amount or amounts which said properties are advertised to be
sold for; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that sufficient funds be
authorized to be paid to the said J. A. Gant, City Treasurer of
the City of Newport Beach, for the purchase of said properties

1 and that the said J. A. Gant report back to this City Council
2 the properties purchased by him and the amounts paid therefor.

4 I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was
5 I duly and regularly passed by the City Council of the City of
6 Newport Beach at a regular meeting thereof, held on the "day
7 of June, 1931, by the following vote, to —wit:
