The City Council of the City of 11ewport Beach, California
pursuant to the provisions of the "Improvement Act of 1911" and
amendments to -the said act, does resolve as follows:

SFCTION 1. That the public interest and convenience
require, and that it is the intention of the City Council of the
City of Newport Beach,. California., to order the following work
to be done, to -vit: That

Seashore Colany Tract as shorn upon a map recorded on page 25,
book 7 of miscellaneous maps records of Orange County, Califcunia,

the Superior Court of the State of California in and for the
County of Orange, described as follows to --wit:
Beginning at a point in the westerly boundary of the
City of Newport Beach,. said point being the point of Inter-
section of the northeasterly prolongation of the northwesterly
line of Block "NO as laid out and shorn upon the Map of the Sea -
shore Colony Tract, recorded in Book 7, page.25 of miscellaneous
maps,. records of Orange County., California, and the southwesterly
boundary line of the Pacific Electric Railway Company's right
of way as laid out and shorn upon said map; thence southeasterly

Railway Company's right of way, as laid out and shown upon said

mentioned northeasterly prolongation a distance of 20.02 feet
to a point, said point being the point of intereection of said
northeasterly prolongation and a line 20 feet distant from and
parallel to said southwesterly boundary of the Pacific Electric,.

northeasterly prolongation a distance of 10.feet to the point of
beginning, be improved by certain grading by the construction of
certain cement concrete curb, by the construction d certain
bituminous macadam wearirg surface on disintegrated granite base,
by the installation of certain castiron crater pipe main, gate
valves., valve boxes and covers, fittings and appurtenances and
by the removal of certain existing cement concrete sidewalk; .
That the following described portions of streets be
improved by certain grading$ by.the construction of certain
bituminous macadam wearing surface on disintegrated granite base,
by the installation of certain cast iron water. pipe main:, gate
• valves, valve boxsand cover3� fittings and appurtenances, fire
hydrants$ fittings and appurtenances:
(a) 37th STREET between the southwesterly line of the

(b) Goth STREET between the southwesterly line of
the property herein described for which an order of immediate

the property herein described for which an order of immediate
possession has been granted, and a -line 15 feet southwesterly

be improved by certain grading, by the construction of certain
bituminous macadam wearing surface on disintegrated granite

the property herein described for which an order of immediate
possession has been granted,and a line 62.6 feet southwesterly
of and parallel to the said southwesterly line;
(b) PROSPECT STREET from the southwesterly line of
the property herein described for which an order of immediate
possession has•been granted,and a line 62.2 feet southwesterly
of and parallel to the said southwesterly line;
(c) CEDAR STREET from the southwesterly line of
the property herein described for which an order of immediate
possession has been granted,and a line 65.0 feet southwesterly
of and parallel to.the said southwesterly line;
(d) UALNUT STRET from the southwesterly line of
the property herein described for which in order of immediate

(k) NORDINA STREET between the southwesterly line of
Seashore Drive and a line $4:5 feet southwesterly of and parallel
to the said southwesterly liner
(1) SONORA STREET between the southwesterly line of
Seashore Drive and a line 97.2 feet . southwesterly of and parallel
to the said southwesterly line;
(m) OLIVE STREET between the southwest a ly line of
Seashore Drive and a line 99.0 feet southwesterly of and parallel
to the said southwesterly line;
For all purposes ox this proceecung that certain alley
• 15 feet in width lying northeasterly of and adjacent.to Blocks
.56r 57. 59. 59 and 60 as shown upon a map of the Ocean Front
Tract recorded in Book 4, Page 12 of Mi ecellaneous.ma.ps records
of Orange County, California, and that certain alley 15 feet in
width lying northeasterly of and adjacent to Blocks "A ", BOO nL."p
"D ", "E ", "F", "G", "H", "I", "J", "'K ", "L ", "U" and.uN" as shown
upon a map of the Seashore Colony Tract recorded in Book 7, Page
25 of miscellaneous maps, records of said County, are herein
referred to and designated as Seashore Drive, and the name thereof
Is hereby declared to be and established as Seashore Drive and
so referred to.. v

GRADES
The grades to which the said work and improvement
is to be done is that shown on the plans; profiles and cross -
sections herein referred to and reference is hereby made to
said plans, profiles, amd cross - sections for a description of
the grade to which the said work is to be done and improvements
made.
PLANS, PROFILES, CROSS- SECTIONS
AND SPECIFICATIONS
SECTION 2.- All of the said work and improvement to be done shall
be constructed upon the grades, along the lines, between the points
of the dimensions... at the places, and in the manner shown on the
plans, profiles and cross- sections for the improvement of Sea-
shore Drive and certain other streets, being Plan Pdo 3699 Sheets
1 to 15 inclusive and Standard Plans No. 1016,1025 and 1027, on
file in the office of the City Engineer of said City and shall
be constructed of the materials and in the manner shown in,-and
In accordance with the specifications heretofore approved by
the City Council of the said City, and reference is hereby made to
the said plans, profiles, cross - sections and specifications for
a further, full and more particular description of the said work,
and by reference thereto the same are.incorporated herein and
made a part hereof.
DESCRIPTION.OF ASSESSMENT DISTRICT.
SECTION 3.. That the said contemplated.rork and improvement, in
the opinion of the said City Council, is of more than local or -
• ordinary public benefit, and said City Council hereby makes the
expenses of the said work and improvement chargeable upon a
district, which said district said City Council hereby declares
to be the district benefitted by the said work, and improvement

and to be assessed to pay the costs and expenses thereof, and
which district is bounded and described as follows:
Beginning at the most easterly corner of Lot 1,
Block 36 as laid out and shown upon a Hap, of Nevxport Beach,
recorded in Book 3, page 26 of Liscellaneous Baps, records of
Orange County, California.; running thence southwesterly along
the southeasterly line of said Lot 1 to the most southerly
corner of said Lot 1; thence northwesterly along the north-
easterly line cf Ocean Avenue and the prolongations of last
mentioned northeasterly line across intersecting streets, to
the most westerly corner of.Lot 6, Block 60, as laid out and
shown upon a lisp of Ocean Front Tract recorded in Book 4. page
12 of Miscellaneous maps,records of said County; thence westerly

"A °; as laid out and shown upon a map of Seashore Colony Tract
recorded in book 7, page 25 of miscellaneous maps, records of
said County; thence northwesterly along the northeasterly line
of Ocean Avenue and the prolongation of the last mentioned
northeasterly line across intersecting streets to the most wes-
terly corner of Lot 4, Block 0140, of said Seashore Colony Tract;
thence northeasterly along the northwesterly line of said Block
"N" and along the northeasterly prolongation of the last men-
tioned northwesterly line to a point 10:00 feet northeasterly
of the former southwesterly line of the Pacific Electric Railway
Compcmy's 60 foot right of way; thence southeasterly along a
line 10.00 feet northeasterly of and parallel to the last men-

longation of the northwesterly line of Orange Street; thence
northeasterly along the last mentioned northeasterly prolong-

of the Pacific Electric Railway Company's right of nay to an
intersection with the northeasterly prolongation of the north-
westerly line of 36th Street; thence southwesterly along the
northeasterly prolongation of the northwesterly line of 36th
Street, 30 feet to the point of beginning, all in the City of
Newport Beach,, Orange County, California, excepting from said
district all publiethighways included therein,
A plat of said district indicating by a boundary
line the extent of the territory included within the proposed
assessment district; numbered 370, approved by the City Council
on the ]2 day of fiJL, 1931, is on file.in the office of
the City Ungineer of the said City. 11eference is hereby made
tothe said plat, so on file, for a further, full and more com-
plete description of the said assessment district, and the said
plat so on file as aforesaid, shall govern for all details as, *o
the extent of the said assessment district.
DESCRIPTION OF BONDS
SECTION 4. That serial bonds bearing interest at the rate of
seven per cent (7¢) per annum dull be issued to represent each
assessment of Twenty -five and no /100 025.00) Dollars, or more
remaining unpaid for thirty (30) days after the date of the war-
0 rant. Said serial bonds shall extend over a period ending nine
(9) years ffom the seconi day of January next succeeding the
fifteenth day of the next November following then date. Payments

made by property owners to the City Treasurer, and the same
shall be disbursed by him, all as provided in the °.Improvement

SECTION 5. I3OTICE I3 FIVMY GIVER That on the '7. —.day of
m_xa 1931, at the hour of seven thirty (7:30) o'clock P.M.
in the Council Chamber of the City Council of the City of
Newport Beach, any and all persons having any objections to the
proposed pork or improvement, or to ;the extent of the assessment
district, or to the proposed grades, may appear and show cause
why said Mork should not be done or carried out in accordance
with this Resolution of Intention. Protests must be in writing
and must be delivered to the City Clerk prior to the time set
for the hearing.

INTEM11ION
BELTION 6. The Newport Nees, a weekly newspaper published and
circulated and of general circulation in the City of Ner;port
Beach; California, is hereby-designated as the newspaper in
which this Resolution of Intention shall be published by the
City Clerk, in the manner and fora provided by law, and for
making allcther publications in the proceeding under this Reso-
lution of intention: The City Council does not deem it advisable
that the Clerk mail copies of the Notice of Improvement to the
owners or reputed owners, and he is not required to mail the came.

• SECTION 7. The Street Superintendent of the City of Newport
Beach, shall cause to be conspicuously posted along the line
of said contmmplated work or improvement and along all open
streets within the district liable to be assessed for said
work, notices of the passage of this Resolution of Intention
in the time, form and manner provided by laver
IBPROVENENT ACT
SECTION 9. That all of the work herein proposed shall be done
and carried through in pursuance of an Act of the Legislature of
the State of California, designated as °The Improvement Act of
1911'!, approved April 7th, 1911, and all acts amendatory thereto.
