RESOLUTION NO. O�
WHEREAS, by Statutes. of 1931, Chapter 397,, it is
provided that not less than the general prevailing rate of per
diem wages- for work of a similar character in the locality in
which the work is performed, and not less than the general pre-
vailing rate of per diem wages for legal holiday and over -time
work shall be paid to all laborers,• workmen and mechanics
employed by or on behalf of any city in the State of California,
engaged in the construction of public works, elolustve of
maintenance work; and
WHEREAS, it is further provided that the public
body awarding any contract for public work on behalf of a city
shall ascertain the general prevailing rate of per diem wages
In the locality in which the work is to be performed for each
craft or type of workman or mechanic needed to execute the
contract; and
WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach is about to
call for bids for the improvement of Seashore Drive and certain
other streets and certain property for which an order of
Immediate possession and use has been granted by the Superior
Court of the State of California, in and for the County of
Orange, which notice is to be given pursuant to Statute and
Resolution No• of the City of Newport Beach, adopted
on the 17 day of 19310
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of
Newport Beach hereby declares and states that they have asoertai
ed the prevailing rate of per diem wages in the locality in whi
the work eontemp3sted is to be performed for each oraft or type

For legal holiday (except Saturday afternoon) and-over-
time work, the general prevailing rate for each of the
respective crafts, or type of rorkmen or mechanics to
be one and one-half times the prevailing rate of per diem
wages.
I hereby certify that the above and foregoing
Resolution was duly and regularly passed and adopted by the
City Council of the City of Newport Beach, at a regular meeting
thereof held on the 7th day of September, 1931, by the following
