HomeMy WebLinkAbout714 - Seashore Drive & Other ImprovementsRESOLUTION OF A17ARD OF CONTRACT 110. %/ i RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Newport Beach, California, having in open session on the 5th day of October, 1931, opened, examined and publicly declared all sealed proposals or bids for the following work to be done and improve- ments to be made in the said City, to -wit: The improvement of Seashore Drive and certain other streets, and certain property for which an order of immediate possession and use has been granted in the City of Newport Beacht by certain grading, by the construction of certain bituminous macadam nearing surface, on disintegrated granite base, by the construction of certain cement concrete curb, by the installation of certain cast iron water pipe mains, gate valves, valve boxes and covers, fittings and appurtenances, fire hydrants fittings and appurtenances, by the removal of certain existing cement con- crete sidewalk, all as more particularly described in Resolution of Intention No. 702 passed and adopted by the City Council of said City on the 12th day of August, 1931, and on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City. For further particulars, reference is hereby made to said Resolution of Intention No. 702 and to plans and profiles, being Plan No. 369 conf4sting of 15 sheets numbered 1 to 15 inclusive, and Standard Plans No. 1016, 1025 and 10273 on file in the office of the City Engineer of said City and to the specifi- cations for the said work adopted by said City Council on the 12th • day of August, 1931, and on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City and all of said plans, profiles and specifications heretofor approved by said City Council are incorporated herein and made a part hereof and reference is hereby made thereto for a more particular description of the said work. Said City Council has determined and declared that • the contemplated work or improvement hereinbefore mentioned, was, in the opinion of the said City Council, of more than local or ordinary public benefit, and the said City Council has made the expenses of the said work chargeable upon a district, For a partioular.description of said assessment district, reference is hereby made to said Resolution of Intention No, 702. Said City Council has determined and declared that serial bonds bearing interest at the rate of seven (7 %) percent per annum be issued to represent each assessment of Twenty -five {25.00) Dollars or more remaining unpaid for thirty days (30) after date of the warrant, Said serial bonds shall extend over a period ending nine (9) years from the 2nd day of January neat succeeding the 15th day of the next November following their date, Payments on the principal of unpaid assessments and interest shall be made by the property owners to the City Treasurer„ and the same shall be disbursed by him, all as provided in the "Improvement Act of 1911" hereinafter referred to. All of the work herein ordered, and for the issuance of bonds shall be done and carried through in accordance with the provisions of an Act of the Legislature of the State of California, designated as the "Improvement Act of 1911", approved April 73, 19111, and all acts amendatory thereto, Said City Council hereby rejects all of the said proposals or bids* except the next hereinafter mentionedi and hereby awarde the contract for the said work and improvement to • the lowest, regular, responsible bidder, to -wits tot F. W, TESC= at the prices named in his bid for the said work, on file in the -9- •^ A' office of the City Clerk of the said City. • The City Clerk of the said City is hereby directed to cause a Notice of Award of Contract to be published in the man- ner and form required by law by two insertions in the Newport dews, a weekly newspaper published and circulated in the City of Newport Beach, and '!hereby designated for that purpose by the daid City Council.
