` WHEREAS, it has come to the attention of the Council
that the oilmer of the Balboa Island Ferry Line has made ap-
plication_to the State Railroad Commission for a permit to
permanently reduce the fare for passenger automobile and driver
from fifty cents to twenty -five cents, and
WHEREAS, it is the belief of the Council that such
a reduction in fares will react favorably upon the ferry line
by increasing the use of the ferry by automobiles and will
effect a considerable saving to the traveling public,
t NON] THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that we, the Council of
the City of Newport Beach, respectfully recommend to the Rail-
road Commission that they grant the application for permission
to reduce fares herein -above referred to.
I hereby certify that the above and foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly passed and adopted by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach at a regular meeting thereofheld on the
2nd day of April 1934, by the following vote, to -wit:
AYES, COUNCILMEN: Gordon, Claire, Ellsworth,
Garfield, Hilmer.
NOES, COUNCILMEN: None.
ABSENT, COUNCILMEN: None.
