RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING
THE WRITTEN REPORT OF THE CITY ENGINEER
FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF CERTAIN CEMENT
CONCRETE BULKHEAD AND APPURTENANCES TO
PROTECT THE STREETS, AVENUES, LANES, ALLEYS
AND PUBLIC WAYS AND OTHER PROPERTY IN
BALBOA ISLAND, SITUATED IN NEWPORT BAY, FROM
THE OVERFLOW BY WATER; THE CONSTRUCTION OF
CERTAIN CEMENT CONCRETE SIDEWALK; THE IN-
STALLATION OF CERTAIN LIGHTING CONDUIT; THE
MOVING AND REPLACING OF CERTAIN EXISTING
ORNAMENTAL LIGHT POSTS OR STANDARDS; THE
CONSTRUCTION OF CAST IRON PIPE STORM DRAINS;
AND THE CONSTRUCTION 0;' FIVE WOODEN AND
CEMENT CONCRETE PIERS,.TOGETHER WITH FLOAT-
ING MOORINGS, IN AND,AROUND THE SAID BALBOA
ISLAND IN THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH, CALIF-
ORNIA, HERETOFORE ORDERED PREPARED BY RES-
OLUTION NO.910, ADOPTED ON THE 16th DAY OF
SEPTEMBER, 1935; AND;IXING THE TIME AND
PLACE FOR HEARING ON SAID ENGINEERIS WRITTEN
REPORT, UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF THE "SPECIAL
ASSESSMENT INVESTIGATION, LIMITATION AND
MAJORITY PROTEST ACT CF 1931."
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Newport
Beach, California, did on the 16th day of September, 1935
instruct the City Engineer of said City to procure and prepare
a written report, pursuant to Sections 2 and 3 of the "Special
Assessment Investigation, Limitation and Idfajority Protest
Act of 1931," as amended, and thereafter the said;City Council
has by Resolution No. 9L, determined in general the nature,
location and extent of the proposed improvement; also general-
ly defined the boundaries or extent of the district or lands
a portion of
to be specially assessed to pa the cost thereof, or any part
of such cost, and defined the statute under which it is
proposed to conduct the proposed proceedings; and that
thereafter the City Engineer of said City presented to this
City Council the said written report;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH, CALIFORNIA, AS FOLLOWS -
1, That the written report presented by the City
Engineer and herein referred to, is hereby approved, and it
is ordered that the same be filed in the office of the City
Clerk for public inspection.
2. That the said City Council hereby fixes Monday,
the /day of/, 1935, at the hour of
seven - thirty (7:30) o'clock P.M. as the day and hour, and the
Council Chamber in the City Hall in the City of Newport Beach,
California, as the place of hearing on the Engineer's written
report, and.hereby orders such hearing to be held by the City
Council of the City of Newport.Beach.
PASSED AND.ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Newport Beach, California, at a regular adjourned meeting
thereof held on the 30th day of September, 1935, by the
