RESOLUTION NO. S
RESOLUTION ORDERING IMPROVEMENT
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Newport Beach
on the 2nd day of March, 1936, passed its Resolution of
Intention No. � 3q to order the hereinafter improvement
to be made and public work to be done in the city of Newport
jBeach; and
WHEREAS, after the passage and adoption of Resolution of
Intention No. � —, thestreet Superintendent of the city of
Newport Beach caused to be conspicuously posted along the line of
the contemplated work and improvement at not more than three
hundred feet (3001) in distance apart, and / 41 in all,
notices of the passage of said Resolution of Intention, headed
"NOTICE OF PUBLIC WORK ", in the manner, form and substance as
required by law, and said Street Superintendent also caused a
notice similar in substance to be published for a period of four
(4) weeks, in NDVPORT NEWS, anweekly newspaper, printed, published
and circulated in the city of Newport Beach, and named by said
City Council in said Resolution of Intention as the paper in
which said notice should appear, all as appears from the affidavit
of S.A. Meyer, of the printers and publisher of said weekly news-
paper, and which affidavit was filed in the office of the Clerk
of the city of Newport Beach on the day of a,9 ,
1936, and is now on file therein; and
WHEREAS, the Street Superintendent of the city of Newport
Beach commenced the posting of the notice hereinbefore referred
to on the 14 t'h day of 211are. 1936, and fully
completed the posting thereof on the day of 14a rch
1936, as appears from the affidavit of John A. Siegel, Assistant

Street Superintendent of the city of Newport Beach, and more than
ten (10) days having expired after the expiration of the time
of the publication of said notice within which protests or ob-
jections to the proposed work or improvement might be made by any
person interested objecting to said work or improvement, or to
the extent of the district or lands to be affected or benefited
by said work or improvement and to be assessed.to pay the cost
and expenses thereof; and
WHEREAS, at thenext meeting of the,City Council after
the. expiration of said ten days after the expiration of
the time of the publication of said notice, no objection to said
work or improvement having been made or on file, why sai.d pro-
posed improvement should not be carried out in accordance with
said Resolution of Intention, the City Council of the City of
Newport Beach having now acquired jurisdiction to order the said
improvement:
IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED AND,ORDERED: That the public
18 interest and convenience requires the work hereinafter described
19 and the City Council of the city of Newport Beach hereby orders
20 the following work to be done and improvement made in the City
21 of Newport Beach, as follows:
22 That that portion of Ocean. Boulevard in the city of
23 Newport Beach as hereinafter described be closed up and abandoned,
24 14 to-wit:
25 II All that portion of Ocean Boulevard, as said Ocean Boulevard
26 11is laid out and shown upon a map.of-resubdivision of Corona Del
Bgax, recorded in Boot 4, page -67 of Miscellaneous Baps, Records
27 of Orange County, California, described as follows, to -wit:
28 Beginning at the point of intersection of the southwesterly
line of said Ocean Boulevard, with the southwesterly prolongation
29 of the northwesterly line of Carnation Avenue, formerly known as
30th Avenue, as said 30th Avenue is shown on said Bap of Corona
30 Del Mar;. running thence southeasterly along the said-
--southwest-erly line of Ocean Boulevard 93 feet; thence northerly in a
31 direct line to a point in.the southwesterly prolongation of the
northwesterly line of said Carnation Avenue, which point is 56
32 feet from the point of beginning; thence southwesterly along
the said southwesterly prolongation of the northwesterly line of
Carnation Avenue, 56 feet to the point of beginning.

ill All of which is more clearly shown on a certain map
2 approved and adopted by the City Council of the city of Newport
3 Beach for said abandor4ent by Resolution No. / 3 on the
4 2nd day of March, 1936.
5 The public work ordered and the improvement to be
6 made is for the purpose of closing up and abandoning a portion
7 of Ocean Boulevard in the city of Newport Beach as hereinbefore
8 described, and for that reason no district is chargeable for
9 costs in connection therewith.
10 All of the herein proposed work shall be done in pursuance
11 ll of an Act of the Legislature of the State of California, designated
12 "Street Opening Act of 1889" and amendments thereto.
13 For further particulars reference is hereby made to said
1141 14 Resolution of Intention No. q 3q which is dated the 2nd
15 day of March, 1936, and on file with the Clerk of the city of
16 11 Newport Beach.
