3 WHEREAS, The City Council of the City of Newport Beach,
4 Orange County, California, did on or about the 13th day of June,
5 1936, acquire certain properties in that district, known as the
6 Corona Del Mar District, in the City of Newport Beach , Orange
7 County, California, from the County of Orange, with the consent
8 of the State Controller of the State of California; and

9 WHEREAS, the Tax Collector of Orange County, has made
10 his tax deed dated June 13th, 1936, deeding to the City of Newport
11 Beach, under section 3897d of the Political Code, and pursuant
12 to a written agreement dated May 4th, 1936, wherein the Board of
13 Supervisors of Orange County, California, is the "Seller" and
14 the City of Newport Beach of Orange County, California, is
15 therein named as "Buyer ", which said deed has been recorded in
16 Hook 422, pages 57 to 59 of Official Records of Orange County,
17 California, reference being made thereto for further particulars
18 and the same is by such reference made a part of this resolution;
19 and
20I WHEREAS, all the properties described in the above
21 mentioned tax deed have been deeded to the City of Newport Beach
22 in Orange County, California, for non - payment of delinquent taxes
23i and /or assessmentsprior to the date of June 13th, 1936, and the
24+ same has not been redeemed; and
25 WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach is now the fee title
26 owner of all of said real property described in said deed recorded
27 in Hook 422, pages 57 to 59 of Official Records of Orange County,
281 California, heretofore mentioned; and
29 WHEREAS said City of Newport iven to the

Hamasi Corporation of Los Angeles, California, an option or

agreement to purchase all of said properties described in the

aforesaid mentioned tax deed, at the prices and upon the terms
and conditions particularly set forth in said agreement, which
said agreement is on file in-the office of the City Clerk of
the city of Newport Beach; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to said agreement, the City of
Newport Beach has agreed among other things to cancel as of record
all taxes and assessments which are as of this date due or delin-
quent, together with all penalties thereon.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach that all taxes and penalties, including
assessments and penalties against the lots covered by the above
mentioned tax deed, accruing as of this date, be cancelled, and
the City Treasurer of the City of Newport Beach is hereby
authorized, directed and instructed to cancel all such taxes and
assessments and penalties to this date on all the properties
coveied.by the above mentioned tax deed.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That said cancellation of
taxes and assessments may be made in accordance with this
resolution and the ordinances in such cases made and provided.
I hereby certify that the above and. foregoing
Resolution was duly and regularly passed and adopted by the
City Council of the city of Newport Beach at an adjourned
regular meeting thereof held on the 24th day of August, 1936,
by the following vote, to —wit:
