RESOLUTION NO. JILL
RESOLUTION OF THE -.CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH, CALIFORNIA,
EXTENDING THE TIItiT FOR COMPLETION OF
CONTRACT IN THE 11ATTER OF THE BULKHEAD
AND OTHER IMPROVEMENTS IN AND AROUND
BALBOA ISLAND.
WHEREAS; Pursuant to proceedings heretofore taken by
the City Council of the City of Newport Beach under the pro-
visions of the Improvement Act of 1911, the Superintendent of
Streets of said City did enter into a contract on the 20th day
of October, 1936 for the construction of cement concrete bulk-
head and other work and improvement in South Bay Front and
certain other streets in Balboa Island, as per Resolution of
Intention No. 918, and that said contract among other things
provided that the work and improvement described therein
should be completed within 240 calendar days from the date of
approval of the said executed contract by the State Director,
P.W.A.,which time will expire on the 19th day of June,1937, and
WHEREAS; The City Engineer has this day reported that all
physical construction work in connection with the said contract
is fully completed, and that under the provisions of said
Improvement Act of 1911 it would require approximately sixty
(60) days extension of time of the contract to cover the ne-
cessary time in securing final aid from the Federal Government
together with the time required for the preparation, notice and
hearing on the assessment.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: By the City Council of the
City of Newport Beach, as follows: That the Contractor, Griffith
Company, a corporation, be and it is hereby granted an extension
of sixty (60) days time for the completion of all requirements
of the contract and of the law of the State of California app-
licable thereto, and that the Superintendent of Streets be and

he is hereby authorized and directed to extend the time for
completion of contract in accordance herewith.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the id City
