WHEREAS, a certain Grant Deed dated the 8th day of
August, 1938, from John J. Murphy and Anna M. Murphy, husband and
wife, to the City of Newport Beach, a Municipal corporation of the
sixth class, granting to said City all that certain real property
situated in the City of Newport Beach, County of Orange, State of
California, and more particularly described as follows, to -wit:
That portion of Lots 2 and 3 in Block "R" of
Tract No. 323, as per map recorded in Book 14, pages
40 and 41 of Miscellaneous Maps in the office of the
County Recorder of said County, described as follows:
Beginning at a point in the Coast Boulevard Street
line, said point being located a distance of 170 feet
in a northerly direction along said street line from the
southerly corner of Lot 5 in Block "R" of said Tract 323,
said southerly corner being the intersection of Coast
Boulevard and Marguerite Avenue; thence in a northerly
direction along the Coast Boulevard Street line a dis-
tajce of 25 feet; thence in an Easterly direction
along a line parallel with the northerly line of said
Lot 2 to a point in the rear lot line of said Lot 2;
thence Southwesterly along the rear lot line of said
Lot 2 to the northerly corner of said Lot 3; thence
Southeasterly along the rear lot line of said Lot 3 to
a point of intersection with a line drawn from the point
of beginning, Northeasterly and parallel with the North-
erly line of said Lot 3; thence southwesterly to the
point of beginning.
Subject to all easements, reservations and
restrictions of record,
was presented to the City Council of the City of Newport Beach,
California; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the city of Newport Beach
deems that it is for the best interests of said City that said
deed be accepted upon the terms and conditions therein set
forth, and other valuable considerations, including the widening
of Highway No. 101 through that portion of the city of Newport
Beach known as Corona Del Mar.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That said Grant Deed
be accepted by the City of Newport Beach, and that the City Clerk
be instructed to record the same forthwith with the County
LAW OFFICES OF Recorder of Orange County, California.
