3 WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach has called a'
4 special election to be held in the city of Newport Beach on
5 Tuesday, the 5th day of December, 1939, for the purpose of
6 submitting to the qualified voters of said city a proposition
7 to incur bonded indebtedness by said city for certain municipal
8 improvements.
9 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
10 of the city of Newport Beach that the City Clerk of theCity of
11 Newport Beach shall, in accordance with Section 9750 of the
12 Elections Code of the State of California, publish a notice of
13 the election at least once in NEWPORT BALBOA NEWS - TIMES, a
14 newspaper printed, published and circulated in the City of
15 Newport Beach, which notice shall be headed "NOTICE OF ELECTION"
and shall contain a statement of:

(a) The time of the election.

(b) The measure.to be voted on.

19 (c) A brief description of the voting precincts
and location of the polling places.

21 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of
27 "MEASURES TO BE VOTED ON.
28 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN: That the following
measure is to be voted on at the special municipal
29 election to be held in the City of Newport Beach on
Tuesday, the 5th day of December, 1939, to -wit:

Shall the City of Newport Beach incur a bonded
31 indebtedness in the principal sum of $130,000.00
for the acquisition and construction of a munici-
32 pal improvement, toI-wit: The acquisition, con-
struction and reconstruction of two public piers

including the reconstruction and extension
of the existing piers, into the waters of
the Pacific.Ocean, including buildings and
structures necessary or convenient for said
project?
The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and
adoption of this resolution, and shall cause the same to be
entered in the book of resolutions of said City of Newport
Beach, and shall make a minute of the passage and adoption
thereof in the minutes of the meeting of said City Council at
which the same is adopted.
PASSED, ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 30th day of
October, 1939.
