RESOLUTION NO.
WHEREAS, there has this day been presented to the
City Council of the City of Newport Beach a certain Lease between
the City of Newport Beach and The United States of America, dated
March let, 1942) wherein the City of Newport Beach in said lease
referred to as the Lessor, leases to the United States of America,
in said lease referred to as the GovernmenZ,, the following
described property situated in the city of Newport Beach, and
more particularly described as follows:
Southwesterly 50 feet of Ocean Boulevard extending
between the southwesterly prolongations of the north-
westerly line and the southeasterly line of Poinsetta
Avenue, in the City of Newport Beach, California.,,,..
to be used exclusively as a site for Coastal Lookout Station,
said lease to run from March 1, 1942, to June 30th, 1943, with
options to renew said lease from year to year, however, said
lease to terminate not later than 6 months after the end of the war
at a rental of $1.00 per annum; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Newport Beach
believes that it is for the beat interests of the city of Newport
Beach and the residents thereof that said premises be leased to
the Government for the purpose set forth in said lease, and that
under present War conditions that the consideration offered is
fair, dust and adequate, and that the location of said Coastal
Lookout Station in the City of Newport Beach will assist the
Government in the successful prosecution of the present war.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that it is for the
11best interests and welfare of the City of Newport Beach and the
11residents thereof that the City lease to the United States of
for the purpose and for the consideration hereinabove
11mentioned, the property hereinabove described.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor be authorized to
sign said lease on behalf of the City of Newport Beach.
I hereby certify that the above and foregoing resolution
was duly and regularly passed and adopted by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach at a regular meeting thereof held on the
let day of June, 1942, by the following vote, to —wit:
