1 RESOLUTION NO.

3 WHEREAS, there has this day been presented to the City
4 Council of the City of Newport Beach a certain lease between the
5 City of Newport Beach and The United States of America, dated
6 August 16, 1942; and
7 WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach leases to the Govern-
8 ment sufficient space to erect two buildings on the Balboa Ocean
9 Pier at the southwesterly extension of Main Street to be used
10 by the United States Government exclusively for Coast Guard purposes
11 for the term beginning ng Au gust 16, 1942 and endj.ng June 30, 1943)

for the rental of $1.00 per annum, with the right of renewal from
13
14 year to year, said renewal, however, not to extend beyond June 30,
1947; and

I6 WHEREAS, it is the opinion and judgment of the City
I7 Council of the city of Newport Beach that it is for the best
18 interests of said city of Newport Beach and the inhabitants thereof
19 that said lease be granted upon the terms and conditionls therein
20 specified.
21 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED; That the Mayor and City
22 Clerk of the city of Newport Beach be, and they are hereby directed,
23 instructed and authorized to execute said Lease in the name of the
24 City of Newport Beach,

27 11 was duly and regularly passed and adopted by the City Council of the
28 liCity of Newport Beach at an adjourned regular meeting thereof held
