MOMAS, there has this day been presented to the
City Council of the City of Newport Beach, a certain lease dated
the 5th day of July, 1944, by and between the City of Newport
Beach therein designated the lessor, and the United States of
America by the Office of Strategic Services, in said lease des-
ignated the Government, and affecting lands located and situated
in the City of Newport Beach and more particularly in said lease
described, and
MiEREAS, said lease is in all its covenants and condi-
tions fair, just and adequate, and the consideration therefor
is in the opinion of the City Council sufficient under the law,

WHEREAS, the lands described in said lease are needed
by the United States Government for furtherance of its war
effort, and is for a period ending six months after a formal
declaration of the cessation of a state of war;
NOTI, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and
City Clerk of the City of Newport Beach be authorized, dir-
acted and instructed to execute said lease on behalf of the City
of Newport Beach.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was
duly and regularly passed and adopted by the City Council of the
City of Newport Beach at a regular adjourned meeting thereof held
on the 5th day
of July, 1944, by the following roll call vote,
