RESOLUTIOIJ GIVIIIG NOTICE OF PROPOSED
ANNEXATION OF TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH
WHEREAS, there has been• presented to the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach, California, a petition requesting the
annexation of the territory hereinafter described to the City of
Newport Beach:
NOWT, THERZPOPLE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach as follows:
1. That it is proposed to annex to the City of Newport
Beach, California, that certain territory contiguous to the City
boundaries and described as follows:
All that certain land situated in the County of
Orange, State of California, being contiguous to
the boundaries of the City of Newport Beach and
described as follows:
Beginning at the point of intersection of the
southwesterly prolongation of the northwesterly
boundary line of the Irvine Subdivision, as shown
on a map recorded in Book 1, page 88 of Miscel-
laneous Maps, records of Orange County, California,
with the line of ordinary high tide of the Pacific
Ocean in Newport Bay, and designated 11North Line"
in the decree rendered in the action entitled City
of Newport Beach, Plaintiff, vs. F. M. Strobridge,
and others, Defendants, Case No. 23686 of the
Superior Court of Orange County, California, a
certified copy of which decree was recorded Septem-
ber 19th, 1928 in Book 201, page 253 of Official
Records of said County, said ordinary high tide line
also being the northerly boundary line of the City
of Newport Beach; running thence North 39° 431 450
East along the said northwesterly line of Irvine
Subdivision 241.63 feet to a point in the southerly
line of the one hundred foot California State Highway
right of way, as described in Deed from F. M. Stro-
bridge and 111yrtle E. Strobridge, to the State of Cali-
fornia, recorded September 14th, 1929 in.Book 304,
page 385 of Official Records of said County; thence
South 70° 051 3011 East along the southerly line
of said Highway 187.92 feet to the point of beginning
of a curve deflecting to the left; thence easterly
along said curve concave to the north and having a
radius of 1,550 feet, a distance of 222.72 feet to
a point in the southerly line of said State Highway;
thence South 9° 271 Vest 339.42 feet to a point in
the said line of ordinary high tide of the Pacific
Ocean in Newport Bay and designated"North Line ";

thence North 73° 341 20" West along said ordinary
subdivision is approved and filed, accept the dedication of the
high tide line 83.55 feet; thence North 370 151 30"

West along said ordinary high tide line 215.35 feet;
thence North 740 171 11" West along said ordinary

high tide lire 289.84 feet to the point of beginning.

2. That said territory lies adjacent to and northerly

of that section of the City of Newport Beach known as The Arches,
(c) Said City shall not levy or assess any taxes
6
and comprises about `J-- ,2� acres.

3. That notice is further hereby given that the 1st day
8
of 1946, at the hour of 4:00 o'clock P. 11. of said day.

in the Council Chambers in the City Hall in the City of Newport
10
Beach, is the time and place when and where any person owning real
11
property within said territory so proposed to be annexed and having
12 any objection to the proposed annexation, may appear before the
13 City Council and show cause why such territory should not be so
14 annexed.
15 4. That upon such annexation the City shall:
16 (a) At such time hereafter as the final map of said

subdivision is approved and filed, accept the dedication of the
18
streets contained within the area of said subdivision.

(b) Approve said subdivision and plan of development
20
as set forth, with sewerage facilities.
21
(c) Said City shall not levy or assess any taxes
22
against the annexed territory to pay for any present outstanding
23
bonded debt on said City of.Newport Beach.
24
(d) Zone said above - described annexed property in
25
accordance with the recommendation of the Planning Commission of
26
the City of Newport Beach.

The City Clerk shall cause a copy of this Resolution to

be published at least once a week for two successive weeks, in

the Newport- Balboa News - Times, a newspaper of general circulation
