HomeMy WebLinkAbout3522 - Southern California Edison Franchise�N RESOLUTION N0. 3522 1 RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO GRANT ELECTRIC FRANCHISE 2 3 114� 4 WHEREAS, SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA EDISON COMPANY, a Califor- nia utility corporation, has filed with the Council of the City of 5 Newport Beach an application requesting that a franchise be 6 granted to it of the character and for the purposes mentioned in 7 the form of notice hereinafter set forth; and 8 WHEREAS, in the opinion of said Council the public good 9 requires that said franchise be granted; 10 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that said City Council 11 intends to grant said franchise, that hearing of objections to the 12 granting thereof will be held at the time and place specified in 13 the form of notice hereinafter set forth which the Clerk of said 14 City is hereby directed to publish at least once within fifteen 15 days after the passage of this resolution in lE NEWPORT BALBOA NEVIS -TIMES , a newspaper of general cir- 17 culation within said City, and that said notice shall be in the 18 following words and figures: 19 "NOTICE OF INTENTION TO GRANT FRANCHISE. 20 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Southern California 21 Edison Company, a California utility corporation, has 22 filed its application with the Council of the City 23 of Newport Beach requesting said Council to 24 grant it a franchise for an indeterminate period, as 25 provided in the Franchise Act of 1937, (1) to use, 26 for transmitting and distributing electricity within 27 said City for any and all purposes other than those 28 �O authorized under Section 19 of Article XI of the � 29 Constitution of the State of California, as said 30 section existed prior to its amendment on October 10, 31 32 4. 1 2 • 3 4 5 6 A 8', 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 25 26 27 28 • 29 30 31 Dated this 6th day of October , 1947.
