?7 AS, there has this day been presented to the City
Council of the City of Newport Beach a certain corporation grant
deed dated the 10th day of September, 1947, wherein the City of
Necrport Beach grants and conveys to John H. Summers, a widower,
that certain real property situate in the City of Newport Beach,
County of Orange, State of California, and described as follow,
to -wit:
:..
The Northwesterly rectangular 30 feet of Lot Two,
Three and Four in Block One hundred Thirty -two of
Lake Tract, as shown on a Plop recorded in Book 4,
page 13 of Miscellaneous Maps, records of Orange
County, California.
Subject to covenants, conditions, reservations,
restrictions and rights of way of record.
Subject also to taxes for fiscal year 1947-
1948, not yet payable.
WHEREAS, the consideration to be received for said deed from
the said John H. Summers, a widower, is the sum of 0300.00, and
the granting to the City of Newport Beach, free.and clear of all
encumbrance, that certain real property situate in the City of
Newport Beach, Orange County, California, and desoribed as follows:
The Southeasterly 65 feet of Lot 1 in Block 132
and
of Lake Tract, as shown on a Plop recorded in Book
4, page 13 of Miscellaneous Maps, records of Orange
County, California.
WiiMEAS, the City of Newport Beach needs said property last
described for the purpose of widening Coast Boulevard in the City
of Newport Beach, Orange County, California; and

WHEREAS, the consideration offered for said lands first
above described to the City of Newport Beach is in the opinion and
judgment of the City Council of the City of Newport Beach, fair,
just and adequate and not disproportionate to its actual market
value; and
WHEREAS, it is the opinion and judgment of the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach that it is for the best interests of
said City that said land be conveyed by said City to John H.
Summers, a widower, for the considerations herein set forth;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and City
Clerk of the City of Newport Beach be authorized, directed and
instructed to execute said deed for and on behalf of the City of
Newport Beach, and that the same be immediately recorded when
title shall be brought down on the property owned by John Hutchins
Summers, a widower, showing the same to be clear and free of all
encumbrances, except taxes for the fiscal year 1947 -48, not yet
due or payable.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly
and regularly passed and adopted by the City Council of the City
