RESOLUTION OF INTENTION NO. 3634 -A
A RESOLUTION OF INTENTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH DECLARING ITS INTENTION
TO ORDER THE CLOSING UP, VACATION AND ABANDONMENT
OF A PORTION OF ABALONE DRIVE IN TRACT 742 CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH, COUNTY OF ORANGE, STATE OF
CALIFORNIA.
The City Council of the City of Newport Beach, pursuant
to the provisions of the "Street Vacation Act of 1941 0, approved
May 13, 1941, Statutes 1941, Chapter 250 and amendments thereto,
being Division 9, Part 3, Chapters 2 and 3, sections 8320 to 8331,
Inclusive, Streets and Highways Code, does hereby ordain, resolve
and declare as follows:
SECTION It That the public interest and convenience
require the closing up.and abandonment of a portion of a street
In Tract 742, in the City of Newport Beach, and it is the intent
of the City Council of the City of Newport Beach to order the
following described portion of a street in said tract, in the 01
of Newport Beach, County of Orange, State of California, to be
vacated, closed up and abandoned, to -wit:
Beginning at the southeasterly corner of Lot 5, Tract No. 742
as said Tract is shown on a map recorded in Miscellaneous
Maps, Book 23, Page 42, records of Orange County, California;
thence, northeasterly to a point, said point being the
Intersection of the easterly prolongation of the.northerly
line at said Lot 5 and a line lying two feet measured at
right angles easterly of and parallel with the easterly line
of Lots 6, j, 8, 9, 10, 119 12 and 13 of said Tract No. 742;
thence, northerly along said parallel line to an intersection
with the southeasterly prolongation of the northeasterly
line of said Lot 13; thence, northwesterly along said
southeasterly prolongation to the northeasterly corner of
said Lot 13; thence, southerly along the easterly line of
said Lots 13, 12, 11, 10, 9, At 71 6 and 5 to the point of
beginning.
All portions of said street to be vacated, closed up
and abandoned, are more clearly shown on a certain map approved
and adopted by the City Council of the City of Newport Beach for
said vacation, closing up and abandonment, by Resolution dated.
October 25th, 1948, and designated, "Resolution No, 3634%

Reference is hereby made for further particulars as to the propo
vacation, closing up and abandonment of said portions of said
street, to said map, Ana said map is made a part of this Resolut
to the same extent and purpose as Af the same were herein incor-
porated in full.
SECTION 2: That the proceedings for the closing up
and abandonment of the aforesaid. portions of said street shall be
had and taken, and the City Council of the City of Newport Beach
elects to proceed under the provisions of the "street Vacation Ao1
of 19410, approved May 13, 1941, Statutes 1941, Chapter 250 and
amendments thereto, being Division 9, page 3, Chapters 2 and 3,
sections 9320 to 8331, inclusive, streets and Highways Code.
SECTION 3: The street Superintendent of the City of
Newport Beach shall cause to be conspicuously posted along the
line of the portions of the street proposed to be vacated, not
more than 300 feet apart, but not less than three in all, notices
of the vacation of said portions of said street, Said notices
shall state the passage of this Resolution of Intention and the
time and place of the hearing of all persons interested in or
objecting to the proposed vacation of said portions of said stres
all as required by law.
SECTION 4: Notice is hereby given that the City Counoiil
of the City of Newport Beach does hereby fix Monday, the 22nd day
of November, 1948, at the hour of eight o'clock P.M. of said day,
In the Council Chambers of the City of Newport Beach, located in
the City Hall in the City of Newport Beach, as the time and place
for hearing all persons interested in or objecting to the proposed
vacation of said portions of said street. And the 'daid City
Council at said time and place will hear the evidence offered by
any person interested in the vacation of said portions of said
street heretofore described.
SECTION 5: This Resolution of Intention shall be

at least once in Newport Balboa Press, a newspaper of general cir
oulation printed, published and circulated in the City of Newport
Beach, and said publication shall be wade before the date set for
the hearing of all persons interested in or objecting to the
proposed vacation.
The above and foregoing Resolution of Intention No.
3634 -A was passed at a regular meeting of the City Council of the
City of Newport Beach held on the 25th day of October, 1949, by
the following vote, to -wit:
