*III EAR, the City Council did, on the 25th day of
October, 1918, adopt Resolution of Intention No. 3631 for the
remodelling and installation of new pumps, motors and sppuruenanees
in the existing sewago pumping stations, in the South Speedway
(Balboa Island), between Diamond Aveaje and Sapphire Avenue, and
between Jade Avenue and Fast Bay Front, to&uther with replacing of
cast iron pressure line across Balboa Islam Channel, in the City
of Newport Beach, Call:arniay and
141E'RII AS.v purs.aanu to the provisions of ;.action 1773
of the Labor Code of the State of California, it is necessary that
the City Council of the city of Pya-,rk:ort reach ascertain ana determine
the general prevailing rate of wages on public works, and by the
provisions of said Code, makes it mandatory upon the "arding body
of ar{y public contract where the a ald loocV a °abse9uantly calls for
bids for any public improvement, to ascartain and determine the general
prevailing rate of per diem na as in the locality in which the work is
to be performed, for each craft or type of workman or mechanic needed
to execute the contract, and also the general ,prevailing rate for
legal holiday and overtime work for :ach craft or type of workman
or mcchsnio.
