GIVING NOTICE OF PROPOSED ANNEXATION
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Neijport Beach,
California, has received a written petition for the annexation of
that certain uninhabited territory hereinafter- described contiguous
to the present City boundaries of the City of Newport Beach, said
petition containing a description of the said territory sought to
be included within the said City of Newport Beach, signed by the owm
ers of not less than three - fourths of the area of the land of said
territory, and representing not less than three - fourths of the said
vlue of said territory according to the last preceding Equalized
Assessment Roll of the County of Orange, the County in which said
territory is situated, said petition is presented and filed pursuant
to an act of the legislature of the State of California, commonly
known and designated as, "Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act
of 1939 ", as amended; and
TMREAS, under the provisions of said statute, the City
Icil must, without delay, pass a resolution giving notice of such
proposed annexation;
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Newport
IBeach, as follows:
Section 1. That the boundaries of the territory proposed t
The annexed to the City of Newport Beach, California, are described
as follows:
Beginning at the point of intersection of the center lines
of Irvine Avenue and Coral Place as said streets are laid ou
and shown upon a map of Tract No. 1220 recorded in Miscellan
eous Map Book 38, pages 49 and 50, Records of Orange County,
California said point of intersection also being in the
boundary line of the City of Newport Beach; thence south-
easterly along the center line of said Coral Place to an
intersection i-ith the center line of College Road as shown
on said Tract; thence southerly along the center line of
said College Road to an intersection with the center line
of Cliff Drive as shown on said Tract; thence westerly
along the center line of said Cliff Drive to an intersection
with the center line of said Irvine Avenue; thence northerly
along the center line of said Irvine Avenue and the boundary
line of the City of Newport Beach to the point of beginning.

Section 2. That said territory is designated as that certaii
territory contiguous to and lying generally easterly of that portion
of the City of Newport Beach known as the First Addition to Newport
Heights and containing approximately 15.3 acres.
Section 3. Notice is hereby given that on the 28th day of
March, 1949, at the hour of 7:30 P.M. O'Clock of said date, in the
chambers of the City Council, located in the City Hall of the City
of Newport Beach, California, is the time and place when any person
owning real property in the territory proposed to be annexed and
having any objection to the proposed annexation may appear before
said City Council and show cause why said territory should not be
so annexed, the aforesaid hearing being not less than fifteen (15)
nor more than forty(40) days from the date of passage of this
resolution.
Section 4. The City Clerk of the City of Newport Beach
shall cause a copy of this resolution to be published at least once
a week for two successive weeks, prior to the hearing, in the Newpor
Balboa Press, a newspaper of general circulation, published in the
City of Newport Beach, California.
Passed and adopted this 14th day of March, 1949, by the
following vote, to wit:
