NOTICE OF PROPOSED ANNEXATION OF
?7ESTSIDE STRIP PARCEL

?dHFREAS, there is situated outside and contiguous to the

City of Newport Beach a certain uninhabited area as hereinafter
5
more particularly described; and
6
WHEREAS, the owners of said parcel have expressed themselves
7
as desirous of having the same annexed with the City of Newport
8
Beach; and
9
WHEREAS, it would be for the best interests for the City of
10
Newport Beach and its citizens for the City of Newport Beach to
11
annex the said hereinafter described property;
12
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the
13
City of Newport Beach that the following declarations and notice
14
be made and. given:

IT IS HEREBY DECLARED, that proceedings have been initiated
16
by the said City of Newport Beach, a. City of the 6th Class, to
17
annex the said real property as hereinafter described, which said
18
real property is contiguous to the present boundaries of said City
19
of Newport Beach, and which property is, at the present time,
20
completely uninhabited.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that it is proposed by said City of
22
Newport Beach to annex the hereinafter described real property to
23
the City of Nevaport Beach, which said real property shall, in
24
these proceedings, bear the name "Westside Strip Parcel" The
25
specific description of the boundaries of the territory so propos=
26
to be annexaed are as follows:

All that certain land situated in the County of Orange,

State of California, contiguous to the City of Newport
28
Beach, described as follows, to wit:

Beginning at the point of intersection of the northeasterly
prolongation of the southeasterly line of Summit Street, as
30
said street is laid out and shown upon a map of Seashore
Colony Tract, recorded in Miscellaneous Maps Book 7, Page
31
25, Records of Orange County, California, with the
northeasterly line of the State Highway ORA -60 -A, 100

feet in width, said point also being in the city boundary

in the City of Newport Beach: thence northwesterly along
said northeasterly right of way line to an intersection
with the southerly prolongation of the easterly line of
the 300 foot right of way for the Santa Ana River Channel,
as described in an easement to the Newbert Protection
District, recorded in Book 197, page 300, of Deeds, Re-
cords of said Orange County: thence northerly along said
southerly prolongation and the easterly line of said
Santa Ana River Channel to an intersection with the north
line of Lot "B ", Banning Tract, as shown on a map attached
to the report of the Referees filed April 14th, 1890 in
the action of Hancock Banning and others, versus Mary H.
Banning, Case No. 6385 upon the Register of Actions of
the Superior Court of the State of California, in and for
the County of Los Angeles: thence east along said north-
erly line of Lot "B" to an intersection with the north-
westerly line of the First Addition to Newport -Mesa Tract,
as said Tract is laid out and shown upon a map recorded
in Miscellaneous Maps, Book 8, Page 61, of said Orange
County: thence southwesterly, 1066.56 feet, more or less,
along said northwesterly boundary of said Tract to an
angle- point: thence Southeasterly along the southwesterly
boundary line of said First Addition to Newport -Mesa Tract
to an intersection with a line one foot measured at right
angles, northerly of and parallel to the southerly line
of Lot 1213 of said First Addition to Newport -Mesa Tract:
thence easterly along last mentioned parallel line to an
intersection with the crest line of Lot 1013 of said First
Addition to Newport -Mesa Tract: thence northerly along
said westerly line to the northerly line of said Lot 1013:
thence easterly along said northerly line 290 feet: thence
southerly parallel to said westerly line of said Lot 1013
to an intersection with a line one foot, measured at right
angles northerly of, and parallel to, the southerly line of
said Lot 1013: thence easterly along the last mentioned
parallel line and a line one foot measured at right angles,
northerly of and parallel to the southerly line of Lot 913
of said First Addition to Newport -Mesa Tract to an in-
tersection with the easterly line of said Lot 913: thence
southerly along said easterly line of Lot 913 to the north-
erly line of Lot 814 of said First Addition to Newport -
Mesa Tract: thence easterly along said northerly line of
Lot 814 to the easterly line of said Lot 814: thence
easterly to a. noint, said point being in the westerly
line of Lot 713 of said Newport -Mesa Tract, and one foot
northerly of the southwesterly corner thereof: thence
easterly along a line one foot, measured at right angles
northerly of and parallel to the southerly line of Lots
713 and 613 of said Newport -Mesa Tract, to an intersec-
tion with the northwesterly line of the land granted to
the City of Newport Beach by Deed dated January 22, 1919,
recorded in Book 330, Page 22, of Deeds, records of Orange
County, said point also being in the City Boundary of
the City of Newport Beach: thence southwesterly along
said northwesterly line to an intersection with the east-
erly prolongation of the southerly line of said Lot 613:
thence westerly along said easterly prolongation and the
southerly line of Lots 613 and 713, to the southwesterly
corner of said Lot 713: thence westerly to a point in
the easterly line of Lot 814, said point being one foot
southerly of the northeasterly corner of said Lot 814:
thence westerly along a line one foot measured at right
angles southerly of and parallel to said northerly line

the westerly line of said Lot 814: thence northerly
along .last mentioned parallel line to an intersection
with the southerly line of said Lot 913: thence westerly
along the southerly line of said Lots 913, 1013 and 1213
and the westerly prolongation thereof; to an intersec-
tion with a line, one foot, measured at right angles,
southwesterly of and parallel, to said southwesterly
line of said First Addition to Newport -Mesa Tract:
thence northwesterly along the last mentioned parallel
line to an intersection with a line, one foot, measured
at right angles, northwesterly of and parallel to said
northwesterly line of said First Addition to Newport -
Mesa Tract, thence northeasterly along the last men-
tioned parallel line to an intersection with a line,
one £oot, measured at right angles, soUherly of and
parallel to said northerly line of Lot "B ", Banning
Tract; thence westerly along the last mentioned paral-
el line to an intersection with a line, one foot, mea-
sured at right angles, easterly of and parallel to said
easterly right of way line of the Santa Ana River Chann-
el: thence southerly along last mentioned parallel line
to an intersection with the northerly line of a parcel
of land described as Parcel No. 1, Recorded in Book 910,
page 19, Official Records of said Orange County: thence
easterly along the northerly line of said parcel of land
659 feet: thence southerly along the easterly line of
said Parcel No. 1, 660 feet: thence westerly along the
southerly line of said parcel No. 1, 659 feet, to an in-
tersection with a line, one foot, measured at right angles,
easterly of and parallel to said easterly right of way
line of the Santa Ana River Channel: thence southerly along
last mentioned parallel line to an intersection with a
line, one foot, measured at right angles, northeasterly
of and parallel to said northeasterly line of State High-
way OR_A -60 -A right of Gray line: thence easterly along
the last mentioned parallel line to an intersection with
said northeasterly prolongation of the southeasterly line
of Summit Street, said point also being in the city boun-
dary of the City of Newport Beach: thence southwesterly
along said last mentioned northeasterly prolongation, to
the point of beginning.
FURTHER NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that on Monday, Septem-
ber 11, 1950, at the hour of 7:30 P.M. on said day, or as soon
thereafter as the matter may be heard, at the Council Chambers
of the City Hall of the City of Newport Beach, 3300 ?Nest Newport
Boulevard., Newport Beach, California, a hearing ioill be had at
which hearing any person owning any .real property within. ?he
bouncdzr_es of the territory so proposed to be annexed, as des-
cribed abo-%7e, may ^s pear and. object to the proposed annexation
and show cause, � ^hy such territory should not be so annexed.

the foregoing Resolution No. 3822 was duly and
regularly adopted, passed, and approved by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach, California, at a regular meeting of said
City Council held at the regular meeting place thereof, on the
14th day of August , 1950, by the following
