RESOLUTION OF AWARD OF CONTRACT
NO. 3828
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH, CALIFORNIA,
AWARDING THE CONTRACT FOR THE WORK
DESCRIBED IN RESOLUTION OF INTENTION
NO. 3808.
RESOLVED, thatthe City Council of the City of Newport
Beach, California, having in open session on the 28th day of
August, 1950 publicly opened, examined and declared all sealed
proposals or bids for the following work to be done and improve-
ments to be made in said City, to -wit:
The construction of vitrified clay pipe sanitary sewers,
vitrified clay pipe house connection sewers, vitrified clay pipe
lampholes, manholes, sewage pumping station and appurtenant work
in connection therewith, in Balboa Boulevard and other streets,
county roads and property owned by said City, all as more
particularly described in Resolution of Intention No. 3808, passed
and adopted by the City Council of said City on the 12th day of
June, 1950 and on file in the office of the City Clerk of said
City.
For further particulars, reference is hereby made to sa
Res9lution of Intention No. 3.808 and to the plans, profiles and
drawings No. 431, consisting of 5 sheets, on file in the office of
the City Engineer of said City of Newport Beach, and to the
specifications for the said work heretofore adopted by the said
City Council and on file in the office of the City Clerk of said
City, and all of said plans, profiles, drawings and specifications
heretofore approved by the City Council of said City are
incorporated herein and made a part hereof, and reference is
hereby made thereto for a more particular description of said work
Said City Council has determined and declared that the
contemplated work and improvement heretofore mentioned was, in the

opinion of said City Council,
of more than local or ordinary public

benefit, and the City Council
has made the expenses of said work

chargeable upon a district. For the particular description of said
of January next succeeding the next October 15th following their

district, reference is hereby
made to said Resolution of Intention

No. 3808.

Said Council has determined and declared that serial bond:
7
bearing interest at the rate of six per cent (6%) per annum and
8
extending over a period ending nine (9) years from the second day
9
of January next succeeding the next October 15th following their
10
date, will be issued hereunder in the manner provided by the
11
"Improvement Act of 1911 ", being Part 5, Division 7 of the Streets
12
and Highways Code of the State of California, to represent each
13
assessment of Twenty -five Dollars ($25.00) or more remaining unpaid
14
for thirty (30) days after the date of recording the warrant.
15
All of the work herein ordered shall be done and carried
16
through in pursuance of an act of the legislature of the State of
17
California, designated the "Improvement Act of 1911 ", being
18
Division 7 of the Streets and Highways Code.
19
Said City Council hereby rejects all of the said proposal;
20
or bids, except the next hereinafter mentioned, and hereby awards
21
the contract for the said work and improvement to the lowest,
22
regular and responsible bidder, to -wit: To James I. Gallacher
23
at the prices named in said bid for said work, on file in the
24
office of the City Clerk of said City.

The City Clerk of said City is hereby directed to cause
26
a NOTICE OF AWARD OF CONTRACT to be published in the manner and
27
form required by said Code, by two insertions in the "Newport -
•
28
Balboa Press ", a weekly newspaper, published and circulated in
•
29
said City of Newport Beach, and hereby designated for the purpose
30
by said City Council.
