A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH CONSENTING" TO THE COMO MENT OF
ANNEXATION PROCEEDINGS FOR THE ANNEXATION TO THE
CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH CERTAIN INHABITED TERRITORY
KNOWN AS THE "HARBOR HIGHLANDS ANNEX" UNDRR THE
PROVISIONS OF THE ANNEXATION ACT OF 1913.
WHEREAS, Nerk A. Soden and others have petitioned the
City of Newport Beach for its consent to the annexation of cer-
tain property referred to as "Harbor Highlands Annex" which is
hereinafter described, in the County of Orange, State of
California, contiguous to the present city boundaries of the
City of Newport Beach, under the Annexation Act of 19136 and
WHEREAS, said petition was referred to the Planning
Commission of the City of Newport Beach for investigation,
report and reoommendatlon; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Newport
Beach rendered its report and recommendation to the City Council
on the 18th day of August, 1955* giving its approval of the
proposed annexation of said property to the City of Newport
Beachs and
WHEMS, the County Bo.zndary Commission of Orange
County has heretofore approved the proposed boundaries of we
"Harbor Highlands Annex" as to definiteness and oertaintyl
NOW, TBEMEFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach does hereby consent to the commnee-
ment of annexation proceedings with said inhabited territory in
accordance with the Annexation Act of 1913, provided that the
petition for annexation contains a request that the question to
be submitted to the electors residing in the territory proposed
to be annexed shall be whether the territory shall be annexed
and the property in the territory subjected to taxation after
annexation equally with property within the City of Newport
