RESOLUTION NO. 4934
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE
CITY MANAGER TO F;MCUTE A CONTRACT FOR THE
PURCHASE OF GASOLINE AND MOTOR OIL FOR CITY
VEHICLES

WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach requires substantial
quantities of gasoline and motor oil for the operation of City -ow
vehicles; and
WHEREAS, it has been found to be advantageous to purchase
the necessary gasoline and motor oil on a contract basis; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager has requested bids from several
oil companies for supplying the gasoline and motor oil for the year
March 1, 1959, through February 29, 1960; and
WHEREAS, Tidewater Oil Company was the low bidder in
agreeing to sell gasoline for 18.8¢ per gallon and the requested
grade of motor oil for 49,d per gallon;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Manager is
authorized and directed to execute a contract for the purchase of
all gasoline and motor oil needed by the City of Newport Beach
during said coming year from Tidewater Oil Company for the price of
18.8 per gallon for gasoline and 49,0 per gallon for motor oil.
This resolution was adopted by the City Council of the
City of Newport Beach at a regular meeting on the 24th day of
February, 1959, by the following vote, to wit:

Beach, California, do hereby certify that according to the records
of the City of Newport Beach filed and ,maintained in my office,
the foregoing Resolution No. 4934 was duly and
regularly adopted, passed, and approved by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach, California, at a regular meeting of
said City Council held at the regular meeting place thereof, on
the 24th day of February 9 19597 by the following
vote, to wit:
AYES, COUNCILMEN: Harty Lorenz, Somers, Kingsley,
Atkinson, Higbie, Stoddard
NOES, COUNCILMEN: None
ABSENT, COUNCILMEN: None
