A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO ANNEX
TO THE.CITY CERTAIN PROPERTY.KNOWN AS SECOND
ADDITION.TO JAMBOREE ROAD ANNEX AND GIVING
NOTICE THEREOF
WHEREAS, there is situated outside and contiguous to the
City of Newport Beach a certain uninhabited territory within the
meaning of the Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939,
said territory being more particularly hereinafter described; and
WHEREAS, it would be for the best interests of the City
of Newport Beach and its citizens that said City annex said terri-
tory; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Newport Beach
as proponent did on or about the 30th day of March, 1959, submit
to the Secretary of the Orange County Boundary Commission a legal
description and plat of the hereinafter described uninhabited
territory for its report pursuant to the provisions of Section
35002 of the Government Code of the State of California; and
WHEREAS, on the 8th day of April, 1959, there was filed
with the City Clerk of the City of Newport Beach a report of said
Orange County Boundary Commission pursuant to the provisions of
Section 35002 of the Government Code of the State of California;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Newport Beach that proceedings are hereby initiated by the
City of Newport Beach to annex the said territory hereinafter
described, which territory is contiguous to the present boundaries
of said City and which said territory now is uninhabited within the
meaning of the Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939 and
that the reasons for said annexation are that it would be for the
best interests of the City of Newport Beach and its citizens that
said City annex said territory and would be advantageous to extend
the boundaries of the City to include Jamboree Road and the area
hereinafter described,

1 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that it is proposed by said City

• 3 said City, which said territory shall in these proceedings bear the
4 name of "SECOND ADDITION TO JAMBOREE ROAD ANNEX ". The specific
5 description of the boundaries of the territory so proposed to be
6 annexed is as follows:

as shown upon a map recorded in Miscellaneous Record

line of said Block 55 to the southeasterly line of
Jamboree Road, 100 feet in width, as described in deed,

recorded in Book 4110, Page 10, Official Records of
the Council Chamber
said Orange County; thence southwesterly along the

southeasterly line of said Jamboree Road to the north-

way ORA -60 -B, 100 feet in width, as described in deed

recorded in Book 487, Page 3, Official Records of said
Orange County; ,thence westerly along said City Bound -

ary Line and along the northerly line of said State
Highway to a point of intersection with the southeast -
18
erly prolongation of the Court Decree Line between
Stations 16 -B and 17, as described in the Court Decree
19
established by Superior Court Case No. 20436 of the
Superior Court in and for the County of Orange, State
20
of California; thence northwesterly along said City
Boundary Line and along said southeasterly prolonga-
21
tion of said Court Decree Line to said Station 16 -B;
thence northeasterly along..said City Boundary Line and

along said Court Decree Line to Station 16 -A of said
Court Decree Line; thence northeasterly along said

City Boundary.Line in a straight line to Station No.
25 of.said Court Decree Line; thence generally north -

easterly along said City.Boundary Line and along said
Court Decree Line to a point of intersection with the

northwesterly line of the aforementioned Block 55;
thence northeasterly along said City Boundary Line and

along the northwesterly line of said Block 55 to the
point of beginning.

hearing the City Council shall hear and pass upon all written
protests filed at any time before said hour set for said hearing
by any person owning real property within the territory proposed t
be annexed, and at any time before the hour set for said hearing
any owner of property within the territory proposed to be annexed
may file a written protest against the annexation. The protest
shall set forth the name of the owner of the property affected and
give a description of the said property in general terms.
The City Clerk of the City of Newport Beach is hereby
authorized and directed to cause a copy of this resolution to be
published once a week for two weeks, said publication to be
complete at least twenty (20) days prior to the date set for the
hearing, and the publication shall be in the Newport Harbor Ensi
a newspaper of general circulation printed and published in the
City of Newport Beach, and 1 - i,n�� (j����i ,
a newspaper of general circulation printed and published in the
County of Orange and outside the City of Newport Beach.
The City Clerk is further authorized and directed to
mail a notice of the proposed annexation to all persons to whom
land proposed to be annexed is assessed in the last available
equalized assessment roll, at the address shown thereon or as
known to said City Clerk.
This resolution was adopted by the City Council of the
City of Newport Beach at a regular meeting on the 13th day of
April, 1959, by the following vote, to wit:
