RESOLUTION NO. 503,,
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH DECLARING THE RESULT OF A SPECIAL
MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD ON JUNE 2, 1959
WHEREAS, a special municipal.election was held and con-
ducted in the City of Newport Beach, County of Orange, State of
California, on Tuesday, the 2nd day of June, 1959, pursuant to
Resolution No. 4961 of the City Council of the City of Newport
Beach as required by law; and
WHEREAS, a notice of said election was duly and regularly
given, voting precincts were properly established, election officer
were appointed and election supplies furnished and in all respects
said election was held and conducted and the votes cast thereat
received and canvassed and the returns thereof made and declared
in the time, form and manner as required by the Charter of the City
and the election laws of the State of California; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Newport Beach
met at the Council Chambers in the City Hall of said City on
Tuesday, the 9th day of June, 1959, at the hour of liftlL o'clock
m. of said day, to canvass the returns of said special munici-
pal election, as a result of which the City Council of the City of
Newport Beach finds and determines that the number of votes cast
and other matters required by law are as hereinafter stated;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
SECTION 1. Said special municipal election was held and
conducted in the City of Newport Beach on Tuwsday, the 2nd day of
June, 1959, in the time, form and manner required by lam; that
there were twenty -six (26) polling places and voting precincts
established for the purpose of holding said election, consisting of
either regular election precincts established for holding state or
county elections or a consolidation of some or all of such precinct$,
as follows:

special municipal election, consisting of 4,536 at the polling

SECTION 3. The measure designated Initiative Ordinance
voted upon at said special municipal election, the number of votes
cast at each precinct for and against such measure and the number
of votes cast in the City for and against said measure, are as
follows:
INITIATIVE ORDINANCE
Shall the ordinance requiring the cost and expense of
(collecting, hauling away and disposal of garbage, refuse and cut -
tings to be defrayed exclusively from the ad valorem tax revenues
of the City of Newport Beach be adopted?
