• 2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH ESTABLISHING RATES FOR TAXICABS

41 WHEREAS, Section 6610 of the Municipal Code provides that
5 the City Council shall by resolution establish a schedule of rates
611 applicable to all taxicabs operating in the City; and
711 WHEREAS, the City Council has heretofore issued certifi-
all cates of public convenience and necessity to several taxicab
9 operators; and
10 WHEREAS, in accordance with said Section 6610 the City
1111 Council, after notice to each of said operators, has held a hearing
12 on the question of taxicab rates;
131 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
14 hereby establishes the following schedule of rates:
15 50¢ maximum for the first 3/4 mile
16 .504 minimum for the first mile
17 .101 for each additional one - quarter mile

IL.00 per hour waiting time

No charge for additional passengers

501 service charge for cancellation of taxicab after
cab is dispatched

No charge for the first 3 minutes after driver

contacts passenger

This resolution was adopted by the City Council of the

City
of Newport Beach at a regular meeting on the 27th day of July,

1959,
by the following vote, to wit:
