2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH ACCEPTING QUITCLAIM AND
3 ADMINISTRATRIX DEEDS

5 WHEREAS, on June 15, 1956, the City of Newport Beach
6 filed a complaint in eminent domain in the Superior Court of the
7 State of California in and for the County of Orange, being case
8 No. 68931, for the acquisition of certain real property in the
9 City of Newport Beach, County of Orange, State of ,California,
10 described as follows:
11 Lots 1 and 2 in block 145 in Canal Section, city of
Newport Beach, county of Orange, state of California,
12 as per map recorded in book 4 page 98 of Miscellaneous
Maps, in the office of the county recorder of said
13 county.
14 ALSO that certain parcel of land situated in Section
282 T. 6 S., R. 10 W., San Bernardino meridian, city
15 of Newport Beach, county of Orange, state of Califor-
nia, described as follows:

Beginning at the northeast corner of lot 1, in block
17 145, Canal Section; thence westerly along the north-
erly line of said block 145 to the northwest corner
18 of lot 2 in block 145, said Canal Section; thence
northerly along the northerly prolongation of the
19 westerly line of said lot 2, to the line of ordinary
high tide of the Pacific Ocean in Newport Bay as
20 designated as "SOUTH LINE ", in final decree entered
August 22, 1928 in Superior Court Action 23686, a
21 certified coq thereof beinngg recorded September 19,
22 1928 in book 201 page 253 of Official Records; thence
easterly along said tide line to its intersection with
the northerly prolongation of the easterly line of
23 said lot 1 in block 145, Canal Section; thence south-
24 erly along a straight line to the point of beginning;
25 in which Mrs. E. Abercrombie, also known as Eden O'Dell, and Mrs.
26 0. T. Hosack, also known as Grace Adean Shaw, owners of said real
27 property, were named as parties defendant; and
28 WHEREAS, on April 18, 1958, the City submitted to said
29 owners an offer to purchase the property for the sum of $10,000,
30 which offer was accepted; and
31 WHEREAS, there have now been delivered to the City a
32 quitclaim deed from Mrs. Eden Abercrombie Odell and an

administratrix deed from Eden Abercrombie Odell, as administratrix
with will annexed of the Estate of Grace Adean Shaw, both dated
July 29, 1959, conveying said property to it upon payment of the
purchase price; and
WHEREAS, title to the property can now be obtained and
the acquisition thereof completed;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach that said quitclaim and administratrix
deeds be accepted.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is authorized
and directed to execute and attach certificates of acceptance and
consent to the recording of said deeds in the County Recorder's
office.
This resolution was adopted by the City Council of the
City of Newport Beach at a regular meeting on the 10th day of
August, 1959, by the following vote, to wit:

Beach, California, do hereby certify that according to the records
of the City of Newport Beach filed and laaintained in my office,
the foregoing Resolution No. 5073 was duly and
regularly adopted, passed, and approved by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach, California, at a regular meeting of
said City Council held at the regular meeting place thereof, on
the 10th day of August , 19592 by the following
vote, to wit:
AYES, COUNCILMEN: Kingsley, Atkinson, Higbie, Stoddard,
Lorenz, Somers
NOES, COUNCILMEN: None
ABbENT, COUNCILMEN: Hart
