RESOLUTION NO. SS /S_
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH ORDERING THAT A LEASE AGREEMENT
BETWEEN THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH AND THE NEWPORT
BEACH SCHOOL DISTRICT BE SUBMITTED TO THE VOTERS
FOR APPROVAL AT THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION
• BEING HELD ON APRIL 12, 1960

WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach and the Newport Beach
School District have entered into a lease agreement dated February
1, 1960, under which the City leases certain tidelands and filled
lands lying between the southerly extension of 13th Street and the
southerly extension of 14th Street to the School District and grants
a license and right of trespass over certain adjoining uplands to
said district for a term of fifty years; and
WHEREAS, said agreement is subject to approval by a major-
ity vote of the electors of the City voting thereon;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, DETERMINED and ORDERED:
Section 1. Said lease agreement shall be submitted to
the qualified electors of the City for approval at the general
municipal election on April 12, 1960, in accordance with the terms
thereof and the Charter of the City.
Section 2. The ballot proposition shall be Proposition
A and shall appear on the ballot as follows:
PROPOSITION A LEASE AGREEMENT CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH
NEWPORT BEACH SCHOOL DISTRICT: Shall the lease agree-
ment between the City of Newport Beach and Newport Beach
YES
School District on file in the office of the City Clerk
in which the City leases certain tidelands and filled
lands between the southerly extension of 13th Street and
the southerly extension,of 14th Street and grants a
license and right of trespass over adjoining land con-
sisting of Block 13 A, Section B, Newport Beach, also
NO
between the southerly extensions of said streets, to
Newport Beach School District for a term of fifty (50)
years from February 1, 1960, be approved?

A cross ( +) placed in the voting square after the word
"YES" as set out above shall be counted in favor of the approval
of the lease agreement.
A cross ( +) placed in the voting square after the word
"NO" as set out above shall be counted against the approval of the
lease agreement.
Section 3. Three copies of the lease agreement shall be
kept on file in the office of the City Clerk for inspection by the
public.
Section 4. The City Clerk is authorized and directed to
do all things necessary to submit this lease agreement to the
electors of the City for approval at the general municipal election
on April 12, 1960, including publishing notice of Proposition A as
a measure to be voted on and publication of the proposed lease
agreement therewith.
This resolution was adopted by the City Council of the
City of Newport Beach at a regular meeting on the 8th day of Febru-
ary, 1960, by the following vote, to wit:
