A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH DECLARING THE RESULT OF THE GENERAL
• MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD ON APRIL 12, 1960
WHEREAS, a general municipal election was held and con-
ducted in the City of Newport Beach, County of Orange, State of
California, on Tuesday, the 12th day of April, 1960, pursuant to
Resolution No. 5151 of the City Council of the City of Newport
Beach as required by law; and
WHEREAS, a notice of said election was duly and regularly
given, voting precincts were properly established, election officers
were appointed and election supplies furnished and in all respects
said election was held and conducted and the votes cast thereat
received and canvassed and the returns thereof made and declared
in the time, form and manner as required by the Charter of the City
and the election laws of the State of California; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Newport Beach
met at the Council Chambers in the City Hall of said City on Tues-
day, April 19, 1960, at the hour of 3:00 o'clock P. M. of said day,
to canvass the returns of said election, as a result of which the
City Council of the City of Newport Beach finds and determines that
the number of votes cast and other matters required by law are as
hereinafter stated;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
SECTION 1. Said general municipal election was held and
conducted in the City of Newport Beach on Tuesday, the 12th day of
April, 1960, in the time, form and manner required by law; there
• were thirty -one (31) polling places and voting precincts established
• for the purpose of holding said election, consisting of either
regular election precincts established for holding state or county
elections or a consolidation of some or all of such precincts, as
follows:
VOTING PRECINCT 1, comprising State and County precincts
numbers 2 and 3; polling place, City Hall, 3300 West Newport Boule-
vard, Newport Beach.
VOTING PRECINCT 5, comprising State and County precincts
numbers 8 and 17; polling place, Newport Beach Grammar-School, 14th
and Balboa Boulevard, Newport Beach.
VOTING PRECINCT 6, comprising State and County precincts
numbers 4 and 47; polling place, Ebell Club, 515 West Balboa Boule-
vard, Balboa.
VOTING PRECINCT 7, comprising.State and County precincts

SECTION 5. The measure designated Proposition A voted
upon at said election, the number of votes given at each precinct
for and against such measure and the number of votes given in the
City for and against such measure are as follows:
PROPOSITION A LEASE AGREEMENT CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH
NEWPORT BEACH SCHOOL DISTRICT: Shall the lease agreement between
the City of Newport Beach and Newport Beach School District on
file in the office of the City Clerk in which the City leases
certain tidelands and filled lands between the southerly extension
of 13th Street and the southerly extension of 14th Street and grants
a license and right of trespass over adjoining land consisting of

SECTION 6. The following persons were elected as Council-
men from the districts designated:
Charles E. Hart was elected to the office of City Council-
man of the City of Newport Beach from the First District for the
full term set forth in the Charter of the City of Newport Beach;
P. D. (Dee) Cook was elected to the office of City Coun-
cilman of the City of Newport Beach from the Fifth District for the
full term set forth in the Charter of the City of Newport Beach.
Hans J. Lorenz was elected to the office of City Council-
man of the City of Newport Beach from the Sixth District for the
full term set forth in the Charter of the City of Newport Beach.
SECTION 7. The results of the vote on the Proposed Charter
Amendments are as follows:
A majority of the qualified voters voting on Charter
Amendment Number One did vote in favor thereof and it was ratified.
A majority of the qualified voters voting on Charter
Amendment Number Two did vote in favor thereof and it was ratified.

SECTION 8. The result of the vote on Proposition A is
that a majority of qualified electors voting on said Proposition
voted in favor thereof. The lease agreement between the City of
• Newport Beach and Newport Beach School District in which the City
leases certain tidelands and filled lands between the southerly
extension of 13th Street and the southerly extension of 14th Street
and grants a license and right of trespass over adjoining land con-
sisting of Block 13 A, Section B, Newport Beach, also between the
southerly extensions of said streets, to Newport Beach School District
for a term of fifty (50) years from February 1, 1960, was approved.
ADOPTED at an adjourned regular meeting this 19th day of
April, 1960.
