2 A RESOLUTION OF INTENTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE.CITY OF NEWPORT-BEACH DECLARING ITS
3 INTENTION TO ORDER THE CLOSING UP, VACATION
AND ABANDONMENT OF A PORTION OF A CERTAIN
4 STREET KNOWN AS FIRST STREET
g The City Council of the City of Newport Beach, pursuant
7 to the provisions of the "Street Vacation Act of 1941 ", and all
8 amendments thereto, being Sections 8300 to 8331, inclusive, of
9 the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California, does
10 hereby resolve and declare as follows:
11 SECTION 1. The public interest and convenience require
12 the closing up and abandonment of a portion of a certain street
13 known as First Street in the City of Newport Beach,,-and it is the
14 intention of the City Council of the City of Newport Beach to order
15 the following described portion of said street in the City of New -
16 port Beach; County of Orange, State of California, to be vacated,
17 closed up and abandoned, to.wit:
18 That portion of First Street shown upon a map of East
Newport recorded in Book 3, page 37, of Miscellaneous
19 Maps, Records of Orange County, California, described
as follows:

Beginning at the northeasterly corner of Lot 1
21
Block 2, as shown on said map; thence southeRy
along the easterly line of said Lot 1 a distance
22
of 70.00 feet; thence easterly along the westerly
prolongation of the southerly line of Lot 11, Block
23
1, as shown on said map, a distance of 40.00 feet;
thence southerly along a line which is parallel to
24
and 10.00 feet westerly of the southerly prolonga-
tion of the westerly line of said Lot 11 a distance
25
of 10.00 feet; thence easterly along the westerly
prolongation of the northerly line of Lot 13, Block
26
, as shown on said map, a distance of -10.00 feet;
thence northerly along the westerly line of said

Lot 11 and the southerly prolongation thereof a
distance of 80.00 feet; thence westerly along the
28
westerly prolongation of the northerly line of said
Lot 11 to the point of beginning.

30 All of that portion of said street to be vacated, closed
31 up and abandoned is more clearly shown on a certain map approved and
32 adopted by the City Council of the City of Newport Beach for said
1 vacation, closing up and abandonment, by resolution dated August 22
2 1960, and designated "Resolution No. 5� 30-�- ", which said map is on
3 file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Newport Beach.
4 Reference is hereby made to said map for further particulars as to
S the proposed vacation, closing up and abandonment of said portion
6 of said street, and said map is made a part of this resolution by
7 this reference to the same extent and purpose as if it were
8 incorporated herein in full.
9 SECTION 2. The proceedings for the closing up and aban-
10 donment of the aforesaid portion of said street shall be had and
11 taken, and the City Council of the City of Newport Beach hereby
12 elects to proceed under the provisions of the 'Street Vacation Act
13 of 1941t. and all amendments thereto, being Sections 8300 to 8331,
14 It inclusive, of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of
15 California.
16 SECTION 3. The Street Superintendent of the City of
17 Newport Beach shall cause to be conspicuously posted along the
18 line of the portion of said street proposed to be vacated not
19 more than 300 feet apart,. but not less than three in all, notices
20 of the vacation of said portion of said street. Said notices shall
21 state the passage of this Resolution of Intention and the time and
22 place of the hearing of all persons interested in or objecting to
23 the proposed vacation of said portion of said street. Said notices
24 shall be so posted at least ten days before the daze of said hear-
25 ing, all as required bylaw.
26 SECTION 4. Notice is hereby given that the City Council
27 of the City of Newport Beach does hereby fix Monday, the 26th day
28 of September, 1960, at the hour of 7:30 o'clock P. M. of said day,
29 in the Council Chambers of the City of Newport Beach, located in
30 the City Hall of the City of Newport Beach, as the time and place
31 for hearing all persons interested in or objecting to the proposed
32 vacation of said portion of said street, and the City Council at

said time and place will hear the evidence offered by any person
interested in the vacation of said portion of said street herein -
before described.
SECTION 5. This Resolution of Intention shall be pub-
lished at least once in the official newspaper of the City, and
said publication shall be made before the date set for the hearing
of all persons interested in or objecting to the proposed vacation.
