RESOLUTION NO, 5981
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A
COMPROMISE AND RELEASE
WHEREAS, Celeste van Cleve, an employee of the City,
was injured in the course of her employment on or about August
23, 1963; and
WHEREAS, the total loss to the City, including certain
property damage, was $1,017.78; and
WHEREAS, Michael A. Dion has been employed by the City
to effect a recovery of that amount with a contingent fee of 15%
of said recovery; and
WHEREAS, a compromise and release has been prepared and
transmitted to the City for execution and submission to the Indus-
trial Accident Commission; and
WHEREAS, it is in the interests of the -City to execute
said compromise and release and any other releases necessary to
achieve recovery of the City's costs;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City
Clerk be and are hereby authorized and directed to execute said
third party compromise and release and any other releases neces-
sary to effect recovery for the City.
ADOPTED this 22nd day of June, 1964.
