2� A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH ADOPTING A NEW SCHEDULE "A"
3 RELATING TO CLASSIFICATION AND CCIVENSATION-

_ 5 I 67HERZAS, Resolution No. 5804 was adopted pursuant to
6 Section 2200 of the Newport Beach Municipal Code which adopted
71 Schedules "A". 69Bfl$ 110159 and "D", each dated July 1, 1963,
81 setting forth the classification and compensation plan of the
9 City; and
10 WHEREAS, new Schedules "A" and "BB1 were adopted by
11 Resolution No. 5904 and Schedule "A" was amended by Resolutions
12 Nos. 5915 and 59839 and
13 WHEREAS, it is now necessary to adopt a new Schedule "A"
14 to reflect the current City budget and certain other changes;
15 N06', THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that effective July 13,
16 1964, a new Schedule "A51 setting forth salary range numbers,
17 positions, monthly salary equivalents, and special rates, attached
18 hereto, be and the same is hereby adopted in lieu of Schedule "A"
19 adopted by Resolution No. 5904 and amended by Resolutions Nos. 5915
20 and 5983.
21 ADOPTED this 13th day of July, 1964.

(1) Senior Lifeguards occupying full -time year - around positions receive one salary step
increase when assigned as summer supervisors.
(2)' Police personnel assigned to two -wheel motorcycles receive additional $12.00 biweekly.
Police personnel, excluding clerical employees, assigned to Detective Bureau receive ,
following additional biweekly compensations Police Officer and Policewoman, $14.40;
Police Sergeant, $16.80; Police Lieutenant, $17.58; Police Captain, $18.46.
(3) Off -duty employees only.
(4) Limited to Police and Lifeguard personnel occupying permanent positions.
(5) Limited to Police and Fire personnel assigned to work as policemen or firemen
during their off -duty hours for private employers.
(6) Compensated by City's provision of housing and utilities.
(7) in addition to salary, compensation includes City - provided housing and utilities.
