RESOLUTION NO. 6093

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF N3VPORT BEACH RATIFYING AN AGREEMENT FOP.

PARTICIPATION IN THE LOS ANGELES REGIONAL
TRANSPORTATION STUDY .

M- MREAS, there has been presented to the City Council of
6
the City of Newport Beach a certain agreement providing for parti-
7
cipation of the City in the Los Angeles Regional Transportation
8
Study; and
9

WHEREAS, the City Council has considered the terms and
10
conditions of said agreement and found them to be reasonable and
11
equitable and in the public interest;
12
NCWr THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the agreement dated
13
August 24, 1964, between the Counties of Los Angeles, Orange,
14
Ventura, San Bernardino, Riverside, the California Highway Trans -
15
portation Agency, the Southern California Rapid Transit District,
16
and such cities as shall ratify the agreement in accordance with
17
its terms, which provides organizational and working arrangements
18
for a continuing coordinated comprehensive transportation planning
19
process in the Los Angeles Regional Transportation Study area, is
20
hereby ratified effective the date of execution of the agreement b,
21
the Department of public Works of the State of California; and
22
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City reserves the right 1
23
terminate this agreement at any time and will terminate the agree-
24
ment upon the happening of either of the following events:
25
1. If another cooperative agency of local governments
26
is formed for the purpose of overall regional planning, and the Lo:
27
Angeles Regional Transportation Study fails to join cooperatively
28
under the jurisdiction of such a cooperative agency within a reasoa
29
able length of time.

2. If the Los Angeles Regional Transportation Study
31
enters any other general planning category other than the field

of comprehensive transportation planning; and

BE IT FMTHER RESOi,VZEiD that the City Clerk of the city of
Newport Beach is authorized to deposit a certified copy of this
resolution with the Department of Public [,forks, State of California;
as provided for in said agreement.
ADOPTED this 28th day of December, 1964.
