RESOLUTION NOo 6203
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH APPROVING THE ANNEXATION TO THE
CITY OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY CONTIGUOUS
TO THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH AND KNOWN AS ANNEXA-
TION NOo 57 (CENTERVIEW ANNEXATION)
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of an Act of the
Legislature of the State of California known as the "Annexation
of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939 ", the City Council of the
City of Newport Beach on June 7, 1965, adopted Resolution No.
6155 giving notice of the initiation of proceedings for the an-
nexation of certain uninhabited territory contiguous to the City
of Newport Beach and designated as Annexation No, 57, which is
hereinafter more particularly described; and
WHEREAS, prior to the adoption of said resolution the
owners of all of the land in the territory proposed to be annexed
filed written consent to this annexation with the City Clerk of
the City of Newport Beach and the owners of more than two-thirds
of the value of the land in the territory to be annexed have filed
written consent with the City Clerk stating that said territory
may be subjected to taxation after annexation equally with other
property in the City of Newport Beach to pay any indebtedness and
liabilities of the City outstanding, contracted, authorized, or
existing prior to or at the time of said annexation; and
WHEREAS, said resolution set Monday, the 14th day of
June, 1965, at 7.30 P.M. on said day, in the Council Chamber of
the City Hall, as the time and place for the City Council to hear
protests against said annexation from any owner of property within
the City who does not also own property in the territory to be
annexed; and
WHEREAS, said hearing was opened on June 14, 1965, and
•� was thereafter continued from time to time and finally adjourned
on August 9th , 1965; and
WHEREAS, it appears that the necessary proceedings re-
lating to annexation have been conducted strictly in accordance
with the requirements of the Annexation of Uninhabited Territory
Act of 1939;

NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council hereby resolves as fol-
• 1. The annexation to the City of Newport Beach, Cali-
fornia, of that certain uninhabited territory contiguous to said
City, known as Annexation No. 57, is hereby approved. Said prop-
erty is more particularly described as follows-
All that portion of Blocks 93 and 96 of Irvine's Subdivision,
as shown on a map recorded in book 1, page 88, Miscellaneous
Record Maps in the office of the County Recorder of Orange
County, California, described as follows-
Beginning at an angle point at the northerly terminus of
that certain course described as North 10 46' 30" East
166.20 feet in the "Harbor View Annex" to the City of
Newport Beach; thence North 44° 56' 20" East 114.30
feet; thence South 70° 33' 35" East 145.88 feet; thence
North 590 41' 30" East 156.36 feet; thence South 28
21' 05" East 133.00 feet; thence North 870 26' 05"
East 72.35 feet; thence North 89° 00' 00" East 660.00
feet; thence North 40° 00' 00" East 1320.00 feet; thence
North 24° 00' 00" East 1680.00 feet; thence East 1050.00
feet; thence North 70 00' 00" East 640.00 feet, more or
less, to a point in the northeasterly line of said Block 96,
distant thereon South 500 00' 00" East 470.00 feet from
the northerly corner of the southeasterly one -half of said
Block 96; thence North 50° 00' 00" West along said north-
easterly line, 1035.50 feet to a point in the southeasterly
boundary of the land described in the deed to Pacific View
Memorial Park, recorded December 17, 1958, in book 4518,
page 207, Official Records, said point being South 400
23 52" West 1030.00 feet, more or less, as measured along
said southeasterly boundary from the easterly corner of
said land; thence South 400 23' 52" West along said
southeasterly boundary 281.50 feet, more or less, to an
angle point therein; thence continuing along said boundary
South 840 40' 58" West 729.27 feet to an angle point therein;
thence North 410 38' 18" West 565.00 feet to an angle point
therein; thence North 480 21' 42" East 72.11 feet to
the most southerly corner of that certain reservoir site
described in the deed to the City of Newport Beach, re-
corded December 20, 1957, in book 4143, page 395, Official
Records; thence along the boundary of said site, the
following courses and distances:
North 750 19' 42" West 805.00 feet; North 18° 59' 26" West
1097402 feet; North 500 25' 59" East 375.46 feet to the
northeasterly line of said Block 93; thence North 49° 27'
55" West along said northeasterly line, 1900.00 feet, more
or less, to a point in the easterly line of MacArthur
• Boulevard, 100.00 feet wide, said point being on a curve
concave northwesterly having a central angle of 210 45' 00"
and a center line radius of 2000.00 feet, said.point also
being in the boundary of said City of Newport Beach as
established by Ordinance No. 999; thence along said boundary
the following courses and distances-
southerly 389.10 feet, more or less, to the end of said
curve; South 51° 56.' 31" West 908.55 feet to the beginning

of a curve concave southeasterly and having a radius of
1950.00 feet; southerly 902.89 feet along said curve
through an angle of 26° 31' 45 "; South 25° 25' 00" West
1242.75 feet to the most northerly corner of said "Harbor
• View Annex ", thence along the boundary of said City of .
Newport Beach, the following courses and distances:
South 65° 24' 00" East 720.00 feet; South 50° 14' 20"
East 514.39 feet; South 630 East 550.00 feet to the
westerly corner of the "First Addition to Harbor View
Annex ", continuing along said boundary North 270 00'
East 130,00 feet; South 63° 00' East 305.00 feet;
South 50° 00' East 795,00 feet; South 720 00' West
245.00 feet; South 41° 30' West 350.00 feet; South
640 00' West 275.00 feet; South 77 00' West 110.00 a
feet; South 460 30' West 280.00 feet, more or less,
to the northeasterly boundary of said "Harbor View
Annex ", continuing along said boundary South 32° 34'
52" East 936.56 feet, more or less, to an angle point
therein; South 59° 30' East 740.00 feet; South 70°
West 760.00 feet; southeasterly to the point of begin-
ning.
2. The property in the aforesaid "Annexation No. 57"
shall be subjected to taxation after annexation equally with
property within the City of Newport Beach to pay any indebted -
ness and liabilities of the City'of Newport Beach outstanding,
contracted, authorized, or existing prior to or at the time of
annexation.
3o The boundaries of the City of Newport Beach, Cali-
fornia, be, and the same are hereby altered to include the
territory described herein, the annexation of which is approved
herein, and incorporated in the City of Newport Beach, California.
4. The City Clerk is hereby directed to file a certi-
fied copy of this resolution with the Secretary of State.
ADOPTED this 9th day of August, 1965.
