A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
2 NE12011T BEACH ORDERING THE VACATION, CLOSING UP
AND AW- 1001%2NT OF A PORTION OF AN ALLEY IN
3 BLOCK.632, CORONA- DEL.MAR.TRACT

5 TiMEREAS, the City Council of the City of Newport Beach
6 did, on the 14th day of March, 1966, pass its certain Resolution
7 of Intention No. 6311, declaring its intention to order the vaca-
8 tion, closing up and abandonment of a portion of a certain alley
9 in Block 632, Corona Del Mar Tract, in the City of Newport Beach,
10 hereinafter more particularly described, pursuant to and in
11 accordance with the "Street Vacation Act of 1941 ", and all amend -
12 ments thereto, being Sections 8300 to 8331, inclusive, of the
13 Streets and Highways Code of the State of California; and
14 WEREAS, the Street Superintendent of the City of New -
15 port Beach has caused to be posted conspicuously along the lines
16 of said portion of said alley proposed to be vacated, not more
17 than 300 feet apart, and not less than three in all, notices of
18 the vacation of said portion of said alley, all of which will
19 more fully appear from the affidavit of Joseph T. Devlin, Street
20 Superintendent of the City of Newport Beach, on file in these
21 proceedings; and
22 ETflEREAS, said notices so posted by the Street Superin-
23 tendent of the City of Newport Beach stated the passage of said
24 Resolution of Intention No. 6311 aforesaid, and the time and
25 place of the hearing of all persons interested in or objecting
26 to the proposed vacation of said portion of said alley; and
27 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Newport Beach
28 did set Monday, April 11, 1966, at 7.30 P. M. of said day as the
29 time, and the Council Chamber of the City Council of the City of
30 Newport Beach, located in the City Hall of the City of Newport
31 Beach, as the place, for the hearing of all persons interested in

or objecting to the proposed vacation of said portion of said
alley; and
WHEREAS, said Resolution of Intention No. 6311 aforesaid
has been published at least once in the Newport Harbor Ensign, the
official newspaper of the City, and said publication was made more
than 15 days prior to the date set for the hearing of all persons
interested in or objecting to the proposed vacation, all of which
will more fully appear by the affidavit of Arvo E. Haapa, owner
and publisher of said Newport Harbor Ensign, on file in these
proceedings; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Newport Beach
has heard the evidence, both written and verbal, of all persons
interested in the vacation of said portion of said alley in this
resolution more particularly hereinafter described, and finds
from all the evidence submitted that said portion of said alley
described in said Resolution of Intention, and hereinafter des-
cribed, is unnecessary for present or prospective public street
purposes;
NOW, THFMFORE, the City Council of the City of Newport
Beach finds and determines and hereby orders that the following
described portion of a certain alley in Block 632, Corona del Mar
Tract in the City of Newport Beach, to wit:
That portion of the 14 foot alley adjoining Block D of
Tract 323 per map recorded in Book 14, pages 40 and 41
of Miscellaneous Maps in the office of the County Recorder
of Orange County, California, together with that portion
of Lot 14 in Block 632 of the Corona del Mar Tract per
map recorded in Book 3, pages 41 and 42 of said Miscel-
laneous Daps, described as a whole as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the southeasterly line
of Dahlia Avenue (formerly 31st Avenue) as shown on the
map.of said Corona del Mar Tract with the northeasterly
line of said 14 foot alley; thence S. 390 38' Gd 14.00
feet along said southeasterly line to the southwesterly
line of said alley; thence along said southwesterly
line S. 500 22' E. 56.41 feet to the westerly line of
the land described in Parcel 1 in the deed to the City
of Newport Beach recorded in Book 1360, page 23 of
Official Records in the office of said County Recorder;

8 is unnecessary for present or prospective public street purposes,
9 and that it be vacated, closed up and abandoned.
10 The City Council further finds and determines, and it is
11 hereby ordered, that the public easement in said portion of said
12 alley as heretofore described has, upon the passage of this
13 resolution, ceased.
14 The City Council further orders that the City Clerk of
15 the City of Newport Beach shall cause a certified copy of this
16 Order, duly attested by her as the City Clerk, under the seal of
17 the City, to be recorded in the office of the County recorder of
18 the County of Orange, State of California, immediately following
19 the passage of this resolution.

8 is unnecessary for present or prospective public street purposes,
9 and that it be vacated, closed up and abandoned.
10 The City Council further finds and determines, and it is
11 hereby ordered, that the public easement in said portion of said
