RESOLUTION NO. 6427
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH REQUESTING A PUBLIC STREET CROSSING
OF THE PROPOSED ROUTE 1 FREEWAY
Route 1 freeway northerly of Fifth Avenue in the City of Newport
Beach; and
WHEREAS, major residential developments are taking place
in the area generally located easterly of MacArthur Boulevard and
northerly of Fifth Avenue; and
WHEREAS, the Master Street and Highway Plan of the City
of Newport Beach includes Marguerite Avenue as a secondary arteri-
al highway; and
WHEREAS, Marguerite Avenue must cross the State -owned
property in order to provide access to the presently developed
areas of the City at the location hereinafter described to serve
said new residential areas;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach that the California Highway Commission
is hereby requested to approve a public street crossing at the
following described location;
1. An 80 foot wide public street crossing for•the
extension of Marguerite Avenue north of Fifth Avenue.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is instructed
to send copies of this resolution to the California Highway Com-
mission and The Irvine Company.
ADOPTED this 22nd day of August, 1966.

Route 1 freeway northerly of Fifth Avenue in the City of Newport
Beach; and
WHEREAS, major residential developments are taking place

northerly of Fifth Avenue; and
WHEREAS, the Master Street and Highway Plan of the City
