6 Code provides that the City Council shall by resolution designate
7 streets or port -ions of streets on which the parking or standing of
8 vehicles is to be proZibited, and small designate in the resolution
9 the days of the week and the exact hours during which such prohlbi-
10 Lion shall be in effect; and
11 1100 S, Section 22506 of the Vehicle Code provides tLat
12 local authorities may by resolution restrict the parking of vehicle
13 on a state highway if such resolution is first submitted to and
14 approved in writing by the Department of Public Works; and
15 v=113AS., due to a major construction project on the
16 southerly side of Fgest Coast Highway, a need exists for temporary
17 loading zones and parking prohibitions as hereinafter described,

19 Section 1. That loading zones be establisnec., to be
20 effective between the hours of 8 A.M, and 5 P.M. every day except
21 Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, on the south side of West Coast
22 Highway between t..e following State Highway Stations:
23 (a) 11 19 and 11 49
24 (b) 11 66 and 11 96
25 (c) 13 63 and 13 93
26 (d) 14 13 and 14 + 43
27 (e) 17 68 and 17 e,, 98
28 (f) 18 -.= 18 and 18 R, 48
29 Section 2. That parking shall be prohibited betwee. tine
• 30 hours of 8 &.P4, and 6 P.H, every day except Saturdays, Sundays ane
31 holidays, on the soul. side of ",lest Coast ;3ighway between the
32 following State highway Stations:

Section 3. That the loading zones and parking pro>zibi®
Lions established hereby shall remain in effect until the City
Traffic Engineer determines that they are no longer necessary.
Section 4. That the City Traffic Engineer is authorized
and directed to appropriately sign and mark the loading zones anc
areas where parking is prohibited to give notice :hereof.
Section 5. L-iy provision of this resolution Thich
regulates traffic or delegates the regulation of traffic upon
state highways in any way for which the approval of the Department
of public ";Yorks is required by state law shall cease to be operati

withdrawal of approval of the Department of Public Works.
Menever this resolution delegates authority to a city
officer, or authorizes action by the City Council to regulate
traffic upo . a state hig7m,7ay in any way which by state lays requires
the prior approval of the Department of pu'olic ;Yorks, no such
officer shall exercise such authority nor shall such action by the
City Council be effective with respect to any state highway with-
out the prior approval in writing of the Department of FTublic
Yorks when and to the extent required by the Vehicle Code.
