Fi :mec / 5 /67 (12) I ,I 1 RESOLUTION NO. 6585 2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH ADOPTING A MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEE 31 COMPENSATION PLAN FOR 1967 -1968 4 :0 51 WHEREAS. Section 2.28.010 of the Newport Beach Municipal 61 Code provides that, upon the recommendation of the City Manager, 7 the City Council shall establish by resolution the classification 8 of positions in city employment and a salary range or rate for each 9 class or position; and 10 WHEREAS, Section 2.28.030 of the Code provides that the 11 i;ity Manager shall review the provisions of the resolution at 12 least annually and recommend changes deemed necessary to remove 13 inequities or to meet the operational needs of the City; and 14 WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 6403, a municipal 15 employee compensation plan for 1966 -1967 was adopted which will 16 empire on June 30, 1967; and 17 WHEREAS, the City Nanager has recommended the adoption 18 of the hereinafter described municipal employee compensation plan 19 for 1967 -1968; 20 NOWx THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the following docu- 21 ments are hereby adopted as the municipal employee compensation 22 plan for 1967 -1968 for the City of Newport Beach: 23I 1. Alphabetical List of Permanent Classes and Assign - 24 ment to Salary Ranges, consisting of four pages, and an 25i Alphabetical List of Temporary and Seasonal Classes and 2611 Assignment to Salary Ranges, consisting of one page, which 27 are attached hereto as Exhibit "A ". 28 2, Salary Schedule, consisting of one page, which 29 is attached hereto as Exhibit "B ". 39I 3. Fire Classes Fire Engineers assigned as Fire Prevention Inspectors for more than 30 consecutive days receive compensation at the corresponding step in the next higher full salary range. Lifeguard Classes Senior Lifeguards on full -time permanent basis assigned as summer supervisors receive compensation at the corresponding salary step in the next higher full salary range. Police Classes Police Officers, Police Women, Police Sergeants, and Police Lieutenants assigned to detective duty for more than 30 consecutive days receive compensation at the corresponding salary step in the next higher full salary range. Police Officers assigned to two -wheel motorcycles receive compensation at the corresponding salary step in the next higher full salary range, Police Officers assigned as Felony Unit Investigators for more than 30 consecutive days receive compensation at the corresponding salary step in the next higher one -half salary range. . Police Officers assigned as Supervisors in the Police Records Division receive compensation at the corresponding salary step in the next higher full salary range. Police clerical employees assigned to regular full work shifts at night receive $12 bi- weekly night differential pay. COMPENSATION FOR OFF -DUTY ASSIGNMENTS Police Classes Police employees assigned to work as ammunition reloaders during off - duty hours receive $2.70 hourly compensation. All Classes • City employees assigned as representatives of the City to work for private employers (such as fireman and policemen in uniform) receive special overtime compensation at the salary range and step to which they are regularly assigned. The private employers will be billed by the City for the amount of the compensation plus 20 percent overhead. -7- Exhibit "C" 0 • CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH SPECIAL PROVISIONS REGARDING COMPENSATION Effective July 1, 1967 COMPENSATION FOR SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS Engineering Classes Engineers registered by the State of California assigned to classes not requiring State registration receive compensation at the corres- ponding salary step in the next higher full salary range. CITY PROVIDED HOUSING AND UTILITIES Marinapark Classes The Marinapark Manager and Marinapark Clerk are required to reside' at their place of work and have the benefit of City - provided housing and utilities in addition to salary. The Marinapark Attendant receives $100 per month and the City provides housing and utilities under a contract for services. ff:: • • CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH SPECIAL PROVISIONS REGARDING CO] SALARY SCHEDULE CONVERSION TABLE FOR FIRE PERSONNEL Reimbursement for less than a full pay period for Fire Personnel on normal 12 -hour shift duty will be based on the following conversion table (67.2 hours weekly, 134.4'hours bi- weekly).
