2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NE&TFORT BEACH, ..CALIFORNIA CALLING-AND GIVING
3 NOTICE OF THE BOLDING OF I GENERAL MUNICIPAL
ELECTION.TO.BE HELD IN SAID CITY ON TUESDAY,
4 THE 9TH DAY OF APRIL, 1968, FOR THE PURPOSE OF
ELECTING THREE MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL AS
51 REQUIRED BY THE PROVISIONS OF THE CHARTER OF
THE CITY OF MIFORT BEACH AND FOR THE SUBMISSION
6 TO THE QUALIFIED ELECTORS OF SAID CITY OF SUCH
AMENDMENTS. TO -THE CITY CHARTER AS MAY BE- SUBSE-
7 QUENTLY DETERMINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL.

9 WHEREAS, the Charter of the City of Newport Beach re-
10 quires that "a general municipal election be held on the 9th day of
11 April, 1968, for the purpose of electing three members of the City
12 Council for regular terms of four years from the following dis-
13 tricts: The Second District, Fifth District, and Seventh Dis-
14 trict;
15 NOW9 THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Newport
161 Beach does hereby resolve, declare, determine and order as follows
17 SECTION 1. That pursuant to the requirements of the
18 Charter of the City of Newport Beach there shall be, and there is
19 hereby called and ordered, held in the City of Newport Beach, Coun
20 of Orange, State of California, on Tuesday, the 9th day of April,
21 a regular general municipal election of the qualified
22 electors of said City for the purpose of electing three members
23i of the City Council of said City for the full term of four years,
24 and for the purpose of submitting to the qualified electors of the
25 City such amendments to the City Charter as may be subsequently
26 ordered by resolution of the City Council.
27 SECTION 2. That the ballots to be used at said election
28 shall be, both as to form and matter contained therein, such as
29 may be required by law to be used.
30 SECTION 3, That the City Clerk of said City is hereby
31 directed to procure and furnish any and all official ballots,
32 notices, printed matter and all supplies, equipment and parapherna

11 that may be necessary in order to properly and lawfully conduct
2 said election,
3 SECTION 4. That for the purpose of holding said general
4 municipal election, the City Council shall hereafter by resolution
5 fix, establish and appoint voting precincts, polling places of the
61I respective precincts, and the respective boards of election for
7 said respective precincts.
8 SECTION 5. That in all particulars not recited in this
9 resolution, said election shall be held and conducted as provided
10 by law for holding municipal elections in said City.
11 SECTION 6, That notice of the time and place of holding
12 said election is hereby given and the City Clerk is hereby autho-
13 rized, instructed and directed to give such further or additional
14 notice of said election in time, form and manner as required by
15 law.
16 ADOPTED this 22nd day of January, 1968.

duly and regularly adopted, passed, and approved by the City Council of the
City of Newport Beach, California, at a regular meeting of said City Council
