A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH DECLARING ITS FAVORABLE.CONSIDER-
ATION OF AND SIGNIFYING ITS PRELIMINARY CONSENT
IN PRINCIPLE TO THE ANNEXATION OF TERRITORY KNOWN
AS UPPER HARBOR VIEW HILLS.TO THE CITYY.OF NEWPORT
BEACH
WHEREAS, an application for an annexation of a parcel of
land to the City of Newport Beach has been submitted to the County
of Orange Local Agency Formation Commission by all of the owners
within the territory; and
WHEREAS, the area proposed to be annexed contains approx-
imately 212 acres of unincorporated territory located easterly of
MacArthur Boulevard and northerly of San Joaquin Hills Road desig-
nated as the Upper Harbor View Hills Annexation,, and
WHEREAS, the Local Agency Formation Commission has given
notice of its intention to conduct a public hearing on February 14,
1968 on the proposed annexation to the City of Newport Beach,, and
WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed and considered
the applicant's proposal for annexation,,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council.
hereby expresses its preliminary approval in principle of the pro-
posed annexation of Upper Harbor View Hills to the City of Newport
Beach so as to enable further and more detailed study to determine
the feasibility of annexation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that due to pending public:hear-
ings on the matter of amendment of the City of Newport Beach Master
Plan of Streets and Highways for realignment of Ford Road. and
MacArthur. Boulevard, the City Council takes no position in favor of
or in opposition to a portion of the boundaries of the the proposed
area of annexation being designated as Ford Road and MacArthur
Boulevard as proposed in the application submitted by The Irvine

do hereby certify that according to the records of the City of Newport Beach
filed and maintained in my office, the foregoing Resolution No. 6704 was
duly and regularly adopted, passed, and approved by the City Council of the
City of Newport Beach, California, at a regular meeting of said City Council
held at the regular meeting place thereof, on the 13th day of February , 19681 .
