RESOLUTION NO. 6777
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH DECLARING RESULT.OF SPECIAL.ELEC-
TION OF MODEM ANNEXATION NO<.59 TO THE.CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH
WHEREAS, a special annexation election was held and
conducted in the County of Orange, State of California, on
Tuesday, May 21, 1968, pursuant to the provisions of an Act
of the Legislature of the State of California, known as the
"Annexation Act of 1913 "; and
WHEREAS, it appears that notice of said election was
duly and regularly given; that a voting precinct was properly
established; that election officers were appointed and election
supplies furnished, and that in all respects said election was
held and conducted and votes cast thereat received and canvassed
and the returns thereof made and declared in time, form and man-
ner as required by the laws of the State of California; and
WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 6743, adopted April 8, 1968,
the City Council authorized and directed the City Clerk to can-
vass the special municipal election to be held in the County of
Orange on the 21st day of May, 1968, pursuant to the pro-
visions of Section 22932°5 of the Elections Code of the State of
California; and
WHEREAS, the City Clerk has completed the canvass of
the Moden Annexation election and has certified the results to
the City Council of the City of Newport Beach on this 27th day
of May, 1968;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that said special annex-
ation election was held and conducted in the County of Orange on
Tuesday, the 21st day of May, 1968, in time, form and manner as
required by law; that there was one (1) voting precinct estab-
lished for the purpose of holding said election, consisting of
a portion of a regular election precinct established for holding

state or county elections, as follows, to wit:
Polling Place Precinct "1"
Harper residence Consisting of a portion of
458 Francisco Drive County Precinct No. 51 -059.
Newport Beach,.California
That the proposition submitted, the total number of
votes cast`in the territory, and the number of votes cast for and
against the annexation are as follows, to wit:
1> That the total number of votes cast at said elec-
tion was 156 .
2. That the following is a statement of the proposition
voted on and the total number of votes received for and against
said proposition.
"Shall the territory known as Moden Annexation No.
59 be- annexed to, incorporated in and made a part of
the City of Newport Beach and the property in such ter-
ritory be, after such annexation, Subject to taxation
equally with the property presently within the City of
Newport Beach, so as to pay the entire bonded indebt-
edness of the City of Newport Beach outstanding or
authorized at the date'of the first publication of the
notice of election for annexation for the acquisition
construction or completion of municipal improvements?4

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said proposition for annex-
ing Moden Annexation No >,59 to the City of Newport Beach under the
terms contained in the aforesaid proposition, having received a
majority of all the votes cast at said election in favor of said
proposition, be and the same is hereby declared carried.

I. DORIS GEORGE, Deputy City Clerk of the City of Newport Beach,
County of Orange,.State of California, duly authorized by Resolu-
tion No. 6743 adopted by the City Council of said City on the
8th day of April, 1968, do hereby certify that I have canvassed
the returns of the special annexation election held in the County
of Orange on the 21st day of May, 1968, and find that the number
of votes given in the territory and the number of votes cast for
and against the annexation were as follows:

filed and maintained in my office, the foregoing Resolution No. 6777 was
duly and regularly adopted., passed, and approved by the City Council of the
City of Newport Beach, California, at a regular meeting of said City Council
held at the regular meeting place thereof, on the 27th day of May 1968,
by the following vote, to wit:
